I must have watched every Pennine Way video on CZcams and this one is my favourite; it really captures the spirit of long distance walking and there’s something really profound and poetic about it. You’re a great character and I admire your deep-seated passion for the outdoors. Many thanks, Dexter, and maybe we’ll cross paths out in the wilderness some day.
Great record of your walk Dexter I really enjoyed that. Your comment north of Alston where you said that you couldn't separate yourself from the Pennine Way at that point rings so true. I guess many people simply complete the trail, abut others emerge with it completely intertwined with them. I first walked the PW back in 1982 at the age of 15, and walked it again several times including as a section of my Lands End to JohnO'Groats backpack in 1985. I now live close to Hebden Bridge and out on the south Pennines sections every week, and each time I feel the urge to just follow it further North or South. I'm glad in many ways that the route lost much of it's appeal in the 90's in the wake of Wainwrights C2C, and over the years it became a walk of solitude again. I've done many of the big walks in the UK (CWT, Cambrian Way, Southern Upland Way etc), but the PW is the one which I will always feel a personal connection to.
Dude! I loved every second of this. Such a pleasure following you along and watching your journey unfold. Dinosaurs, ET’s and salty hair. You brought so much entertainment. Thanks for putting this together man. You’ve got me super stoked for my Cleveland Way hike dude.
Awesome video Dexter! Really get a feel for the trail, and it was really cool being part of your journey. Love the crisp boy song and nice hat! Can't wait to hike the PW now thank you! Also, really cool that you got to enjoy a beer after so long, well done dude, and certainly a great new chapter because as I type this you're trekking your legs off on the End to End Trail! Great to have met you and happy trails man! x
I really enjoyed that. I feel as though I was there with you. My son and his girlfriend did it 4 years ago and my grandson and I were the gofers and we loved it. We are so lucky to have so many trails in this beautiful of ours. Thankyou dexter for letting us join you on your treck.
Great video Dexter, I had the pleasure of walking the way Sobo this summer and what a joy it was. Can’t wait to experience more of the trails magic 🤙 you really capture it well 👍
Absolutely beautiful! Had to pause a few minutes in to watch on the big screen. Brought back so many memoried of my own hike. Gutted I had to set off a day later than planned and didn't cross paths with you but such a wonderful journey.
Nice one Dexter. Congrats on a big achievement after your injury. We must have been on TPW around the same time as I bumped into those guys as well. Of all the TPW videos / blogs.........this has to be the most honest! You laid everything out there mate and that / what is genuine and heartfelt. Nature is indeed a great provider. The photography, editing and score play was fantastic. All in all, this was utterly compelling. Well done again.
It's the salty hair boy!!!! Easy Dex nice to see ya pins blazing the trail dude!! Well done and massive congratulations you showed some raw emotions with dope views, cool encounter and magic along the way Pennine way! Much respect 🙏.....keep is fresh and until the next adventure take it easy mate!!! 👣📸
