I'm not saying it wasn't a travel. I'm just saying he didn't take 25 steps. One he established his pivot he could move his other foot he's free to move around the other one, as one maintains pivot. Those steps with his other foot should't be counted until he.doesn't keep his original pivot. While did he move his original pivot illegally, most of those sreps weren't obvious. It just sounds better to call it a 25 step travel.
@@jackmarston8009 Meh, its not about the purity of the game but rather entertainment and money. Those 3 travels were hardly game changing no calls even if they were a bit much.
John Le No, I'm not perfect by any means, but some things are evident. There is a lot of no calls and possibly what I feel is cheating in the NBA. Yes I believe the game can be refareed for a certain team to win.
It proves that the NBA is big business and they don't want to halt the pace of the game by calling 50 or more travels per game. I mean, it's frustrating to see if you apply a fundamentals of basketball perspective to it. They are simply almost never going to call travels when guys are "sizing up" a defender, or positioning themselves for a pass, the only time they call travels are when guys are making a move to the basket or into the lane, because that has a decidedly bigger impact on the game.
Jacob Taylor The traveling in this video is way too evident, not making a call in these situations would be very sloppy. I understand the drive to the basket or positioning, it would be more forgiving then, but not when they're just making dumb mistakes like forgetting to dribble.
@@MCFoultier Is that from when jimmy butler was talking about him being one lf the best football players in the nba and they told kd what he said and kd said, and I quote, akhm "He an idiot."
That program and theme become famous ( ı love it too) cuz of Today's NBA.. Even existence of Shaqtin a Fool phenomenon is a proof about how game weakened lately.
So for those who don't understand, the NBA is big business and they aren't going to halt the pace of the game by calling 50+ travels per game. When guys are sizing up a defender, or repositioning for a better pass angle, they pretty much aren't going to ever call those travels. However, when you do see NBA refs call travels are when guys are making moves going to the basket, or aggressively posturing to do so. Even then they don't always make the call though. I grew up watching Rip Hamilton for the Pistons and that man traveled every time he caught a pass at the top of the key or above. Regardless of any of this, I will not defend the refs for the cases shown here. These travels are beyond egregious and they should have been called, unquestionably.
Some flops are not exactly flops, but autonomous reflexes. Alright, some are "enhanced" autonomous reflexes, but reflexes nevertheless. That would go for Dwyane Wade. Smart's jumping like a hooked marlin is a hyperflop plain and simple.
When you catch the ball in the air, when your feet touch the floor they ARE NOT steps 1 and 2, thats just your landing position you can then pivot off either foot, unless you landed one foot then the other then you can only pivot off the first foot to touch the floor.
Nathan Wells that's exactly what I was thinking.... They started counting off as soon as both his feet touched the floor and he just caught the ball then....
Canadian Airsoft Actually he does, it just not that far off the ground, but just Incase you didn’t know, he can’t slide it either, and that foot is definitely not in the same place that it was when he first started.
"I'm not cheating, I'm just stretching my neck"😂
Me on finals
Klay lmao😂
😂😂😂
Im Zini That's how Shaq did it at LSU
Im Zini I
It is disgraceful that refs did not call Josh smiths 25 step travel
It was pretty subtle tho.
He didn't take 25 steps. Most of those "steps" are just him moving his feet, while keeping either his heel or toe on the ground.
I'm not saying it wasn't a travel. I'm just saying he didn't take 25 steps. One he established his pivot he could move his other foot he's free to move around the other one, as one maintains pivot. Are you going that far to argue semantics. He traveled, and calling it a 25 step travel is a great exagerration. Where is the big disagreement here?
the steps had no effect on play and nobody cared. then you don't callt it
The league needs to take this seriously. You can't get away with this in middle school.
sneakernomics still an issue two years later

That dirk travel, there were like 3 steps that they didn't count
The best part of Marcus Smart career is when he pushed that guy back in college
Mark G the old guy never pushed him.
I think he pushed another guy recently hint hint
Now he’s a dpoy candidate
@@ontop2324 he got dpoy! But hey, they only gave it to him cause they tired of giving it to Rudy.

This proves that the refs are a joke.
Proves their human, you wouldn't last a single game not making a mistake, let alone 82 games per team. Get out of here.

Yooo these travels are crazy
That guy 25 steps like dancing with the starts lol🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
How Smart of Marcus? ! those glops are epic. .
"Dont go anywhere"
*Video stops playing*
alot of those "travels" were pivots in my opinion, in those 25 moves, only were about 7-9 actually illegal.
Cooper Manning "Just 7-9 of those steps were illegal."
Pussycat // Cancer Gaming IKR? It's not like he took TEN steps 😂😂😂
Cooper Manning I know what you mean tho
its still an assload of steps, but its just the fact of them saying 25 and it only being a third of that.
Cooper Manning yea I know
I love this.
Great stuff lol very funny

well dang that’s the biggest diamond I’ve ever seen
dank A -He’s wearing one of his championship rings. Lol
Jwda thefax it still big “lol”
dank A -I was just joking anyway. I don’t know if that’s true. 😁
Jwda thefax yeah I was confused cuz champ rings are way smaller than that 😅
dank A 😂
How could you not see 23 steps more than the allowed steps
Solo hill got robbed
Macaroni_Joe yup that was filthy
I had JaVale, Perk, JR Smith and Swaggy P. I woulda lost.
Instead of Josh Smith in the shaqtin, It should be all 3 Refs. Humiliate them.
They did Josh Smith dirty 😂😂😂 that counter was not completely correct
Christian Holway close enough😂
Christian Holway lol yeah Kendrick Perkins is definitely worse imo. Even dirks was worse because he was hopping with the ball

They could do an hourly show on harden each week
"I knew it was an odd number" lol it's one of the half of numbers that exist
"I'm not cheating I'm just stretching my neck..." Hahahahahaha 😂😂😂
I must watch too much shaqtin because I know all of these
the first step is when they establish a pivot foot then they get four more for their four pivots and like 4 or 5 actual traveling steps
Marcus "the marlin" smart
the nba must be letting them make jokes about this stuff, either to make it seem like not a big deal or something, cause it really is.
He wrote Jevel!! It's Javale! Don't ever do that again to the man!!!
he might be illiterate :o
he went like Perk, Jams, Jevel
Mr. threDi from shektenafulll
See that travel compilation does count (another video that had people arguing that they were pivoting) sooo
Where part 2??
“Don’t go anywhere”

25!!!!
When you do multiple travels in the space of 1 play
"how many steps did he take", also known as James harden highlights

1:27 that wasn’t a travel his right foot never moved, it just spun
