  • This is an amazing little flashlight that was recommended to me by a subscriber of mine. Turns out to be a great flashlight. Will it take the top spot as best ever?

I love this form factor just wish it had the option with red white and UV. The one that has that i sa sidelight.

Your fenix (if it is the EO3R v1) also have an lockout feature.
Not sure how it works from the top of my head right now, but might edit in later.

It's all about the lighting! ;)

I really do like the feature set, but I am generally not crazy about non-replaceable batteries. Other than that this seems like a neat little light. For now - call me a caveman if you want - I am completely satisfied with a more "traditional" photon dispenser, in my case a Fenix PD35 TAC - the "OG" one, not the v2 or the v3. More bulky and heavier, yes. But it has not let me down ever since I bought it, which was maybe 5 or 6 years ago, can't remember exactly. Lots of miles on that one and still going strong.

    Difference between E8 vs E8?

You mean E7 and E8? If that's what you mean it's ironic you ask because I'm actually making a review today. Should be posted soon.

E8: sidelights, a non UV body, higher price, no cracks?

Light output is great. The user interface of operation is horrible! Triple click here, quad click here, hold here, light blue lock, unlock green. Too many weird button strokes. Wanted to give to my younger daughters for their car key chains, but I reality is I need to teach then and educate them about how to use this flashlight. A flashlight should be able to be picked up and turned on without a manual. Example. How to get the strobe on? No idea, need the manual.

That's a really great comment. Definitely not user friendly, especially if you're an occasional user. However I tend to use my flashlights on a daily and even hourly basis given what I do for a living. So it's pretty easy for me to remember all the different clicks. But I do agree it is going to be a deal-breaker for people who are just keeping it on there keychain.

I’m like you, I love this light. I bought four of them. One for me and the other three for my daughters and wife. I’m a engineer nerd so I like all the options. My wife and daughters think I’m nuts as they like the small light but just wish it had a simple on off. I’ll teach them though.

My 8 year old picked up on the UI really quick. I was surprised since I thought it was a tad confusing until I finally held it. And then it felt quite intuitive. Could be better though. I agree.
