He has a beautiful voice and came very close to matching Bobby Hatfield phrase by phrase. When Hatfield sang the song he spanned seven octaves. That's because he was a countertenor. You have to be born that way. This guy did just about the best a man with normal vocal chords can do, and that's saying something.
Are you saying a human, a man, can sing in seven octaves? Most professional singers never get past two. Vocal teachers have a mask of the human face, I think 28 muscles, that you use to get various notes. And that man didn't have normal vocal chords, singing as smooth and copying the original as he did.

The transition was so seamless I had to listen to it several times. Countertenors are amazing. An opera singer also also listened to Bobby's rendition on her channel and was delighted, naming him a countertenor. Give it a listen. Count for yourself.
