@sportindaveyg No, it isn't a 4k crop. However, you have the option to enable a crop 4k on the Menu.
Hola dan , I buyed Lumix s5iix it record 120fps HD 😂 but récord external ssd disk. (Aún no la tengo me la traen desde usa) . Sigma have Ef to L mount adapter and last firmware intégrate CAF continuos autofocus in ef lens . Lumix for video and canon r6 for photos is a good combo for me. Canon r8 dont have double sd card . Maybe canon r5 is a good option or canon r5c (is tooo expensive !). Canon r6 ii is not a bad option .
Hi Dan.. I think most camera makers should be giving us more than 1080p and like you said 2024 and we are all still waiting for further developments... They will already have these things in the pipeline already' but it takes some bloody time for them to pass them over to creative unless we buy 5 cameras from them first... LOL... R8 can shoot everything exactly the same as R6mark II ! Only difference is lack of ibis , not fully mechanical shutter (I mean one courtain instead of two) and crappy battery 🪫!! But the sensor is the same as in R6ii ! So You do have 4K60 without any crop! (but then overheating may occur I guess hehe)

Comparto tu dilema! Los de Canon son muy listos. Yo tampoco entiendo como no ponen 4k 60 incluso en las gamas de entrada hoy en día. Aunque ello nos exigiría actualizar también el equipo de edición.
Espero que pronto saquen third party lenses para montura R, un sigma RF17-70 2.8 estaría bien para APS-C..ahora estamos muy limitados los que tenemos Canon APS-C. Un saludo!
Al final...me he compré la R8.....y confirmo que graba también 4K 60fps!

I just verified it, the R8 definitely can shoot 4k 60, I recently got it to complement my R6 II.

My bad, I made a mistake.Thank you so much for the info! Since you own a Cano R8 I ask you if you have noticed any overheating issue and if battery life is so bad as they say.
@@DanFrullani overheating signs show up but nothing too much to worry about if you’re not shooting under direct sunlight.
Also I chose to use a dummy instead
Have you looked at the R6 mark II? I rented it recently and it will do everything you're looking for with much less overheating.
The choice you won’t have is what lense to buy. You WILL buy canon lense whether you like it or not.
sell the 90d and r6 and get the r5 new or used. then you get 4k120p, ibis, and no overheating.
All that to deal with large files…r5 is great but file size is very important especially when looking at work demand
