I thank all the Jazz Fusion Artists I’ve listened to over the years. The creators (MD, RTF, WR, HH, ETC.) Also the 2nd & 3rd generation Fusion guys who are keeping the genre alive. If not for WR’s “Birdland” and other greats; and RTF’s awesome work, I would never have gotten into any of the Jazz Greats. Now for years I have been enjoying both Fusion & Jazz. Thanks to all of you!

Yeah. Sco was tasty as long ago as when he played with Billy Cobham. He's definitely tasty at this concert as well, but I don't think that he REALLY hit his stride until the '90s and his EVERYBODY'S PARTY "period", and subsequent stuff during the noughties with Herbie, Mike Brecker and Jack deJohnette. I can here, stylistically, a few if Sco's "pre-cliches" leading up to EVERYBODY'S PARTY itself!! Many thanks for sending. 👍 😎

@@alexmuscalu8439 True to that, but I kinda miss the more brash, in-your-face style of then - And mind you, I never minded the chorused tone he had back then (and which irked and fostered some detractors). Even back then, in comparison to other guys, Sco knew about 'understatement', but he'd burn the house down quite often too. Nowadays he plays w/ even more space in his solos, makes much more use of long tones that previously and he has long since ditched the chorus pedal. However, personally speaking I find his tone/guitar timbre a bit too dry nowadays, too devoid of reverb. IMO he had a nice 'compromising tone' circa 2000 when he recorded 'Bump' - no chorus effect, but still a bit of reverb in his rig. It seems to me that he barely uses any reverb - if any at all. But he still has the same unique core musical personality as before.
