LOL LOL LOL Thanks!!
Thank you!
It’s always nice to see a turbine going around a layout❤
It is. Only thing better is multiple turbines running at once!
Very good show because dealers are friendly and very diverse train selection to choose from. Thank you for your input!
It’s a great show
Excellent video ✨️✨️✨️✨️👍🏻
Thank you!
Glad you are having fun Dave!
Thanks!!
Nice haul
That 671 will outlive you and I
It was great seeing at the show
Nice seeing you too. I’m sure it will!
Great Haul Dave! It was great meeting you at the show.
Thanks! You too!
Amazing 😊
Thanks 😄
Nice stuff. Love the turbine 😊
It’s a classic!
Nice find with the Tender and 671!
Loved the Terra Cotta Pre-War and the ABA Atlantic Coast Lines.
Thanks! Some day I’ll pick up a set of ACL f units
Awsum video nice haul kool stuff
Thanks!
Dave: Thanks for taking us with you. There East coast seems to have more train shows than where I live. Waiting for your next episode.
We do have a good number of shows, this is a great location for that. I’m lucky.
Nice find. I was not aware of the e-unit details in the 671. I noticed you sifting through the boxes under the tables. And that's part of the enjoyment. Because you never know what you will find. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! The under table boxes can be a treasure trove or a pot of despair. I’ve found some great stuff down there!
I made a railroad office out of a caboose shell.
Nice. I hope to do something like that
👍🚂🚞🚞🚞👍
👍
Love the 671 and 2671W tender. I have both versions also. The one with no lever poking through the top should have the smoke bulb if it wasn't replaced somewhere along the way.
Thanks. Yup, no lever but has the bulb. I’m really enjoying this engine
Sorry I missed seeing you on Saturday as I could only attend on Sunday. Nice 671 Turbo. You’ll have fun with it Mine is a 671 R from the 1946 Electronic set. I changed the original pellet smoke unit with a liquid one. Works great! Enjoy
I guess we can’t meet up at all of them! The electronic one, cool. Those have always intrigued me.
Dave, super stoked to hear that some of my videos have inspired you to custom build. I hope your videos inspire others as well. Thank yoy.
That’s what I love about all of this, we get to inspire each other and share in the excitement. Now hopefully I’ll actually follow through and do some work!
@@dagryffynhobby you will. Just time and patience.
When My Wife And I go to our First show In Oct We Will be spending more than $20 we Know What we are Lookin for And We Will Get what we Will find.
Sounds like a plan!
Turbine is a great engine
100%
Thanks for the mention. Nice Turbine, they run great and the Marx caboose will look good with the Marx engine. I'm going to have to take over the $25 challenge. I have too much stuff!!
I hereby bestow the $25 challenge upon you. Only for safe keeping until I’m ready to once again don its crown.
@@dagryffynhobby I'll give it a try and see what I come up with!
That model of the 671 is possibly from 1946 . That model and the 2020 from 1946 which I have had a smoke bulb. I bought my 2020 in 1968 with my birthday money. It is a very good runner
Nice! Yeah smoke bulb, such a nice running engine!
Just arrived on vacation in Sorrento Italy, first thing I do is watch this CZcams, my wife assumes that I am just weird 😀
That was some nice standard gauge at the show
That’s awesome!
Me and my Dad are always missing the Greensburg shows every day. Nice find with the 671 turbine. I think the engine got better and better when Lionel released it through out the years
The 671 and any turbine I’ve had had always been a good rnner
Dave, my 1946 2020 turbine uses the wire as well for the e unit.
Nice. I think the 671 and 2020 came out at the same time, so it makes sense if both 1946 versions used the same setup. Cool. I haven’t seen an early 2020 like that.
@@dagryffynhobby yeah I was told it was a 48 till Ron at classic model trains found out that it was a 46 model.
The 671 is one of my favorites of the Lionel collection that I have from my dad. The one you have is an early 1946 version. The one I have is from 1947, the start of my dad's Lionel collection. It still runs great even if it is 76 years old. Glad to see it run.
All the turbines I’ve had have been great engines, this is my first early version though. Even in more modern terms, my MPC era 6200 is a fantastic running engine.
Were you dressed in a Ninja outfit? I didn't see you at the show lol. I see more blue is showing up on the layout lol. Thats a nice caboose to go with the locomotive
Every time I saw you I ducked behind a display. Lol. I was surprised I didn’t see you, I thought you left early!
Nice 671 and 2671--one of the rare oaccasions when you really SHOULD spend more that $20. It gives me hope to see you coming back to postwar so enthusiastically. It proves your heart is in the right place. By the way, I use no. 6067 unmarked caboose shells for my custom cars, using rattle cans for priming and colors and S scale decals from Circus City and K4 for the graphics. Enough railroads had steel cabooses that were superficially close to the SP C-40-1 that the decorated 6067s look quite plausible. I also give them early frames, trucks, ladders, and stacks.
Thanks. The postwar is always number one for me. And just running the 671 puts a smile on my face.
I do want to try my hand at custom painting. I’ve seen some cool stuff I’d like to try and duplicate
Nice purchase on the 671 turbine Dave! Thanks for the pictures of the show as well. It reminds me how much cheaper the trains are here in AZ. Keep the train videos coming, I enjoy them very much! I just saw the end of the video and have to say those IC 2363 ABA set would have come home with me!
Thanks! I think many guys are asking too much for their trains. It’s not the golden age of post war collecting anymore. I often see prices that are nuts. But I do find great deals too. Yeah that’s a good looking set!
Some great scores on the 671, the Conrail caboose for $20, AND that custom E-L caboose! I don't know if that E-L caboose is prototypical either but wow! It looks great!
We've got a Greenberg show coming up this weekend in Chantilly VA. I can't say I'm really looking for anything ( "So he says!") but I never DO know what's going to find ME!
Ah, anyway it's a fun day out, and you never know, do you?
Thanks Wayne. I’m thrilled with what I came home with.
I’m rarely looking for a tat a show but stuff certainly finds me!
Nice Pennsy Gas Turbine you found, Dave. I hope the tender doesn't have too many issues. It looks very nice. I guess it's always a chance you're taking when buying something mechanical, but you're good at servicing when needed. Like very much the cabooses you snagged as well. And thanks for the visit to the Greenberg Train Show. Visited some in Western New York way back. Always enjoyed the great variety of exhibits.
Thanks. The engine and tender were in good shape. Got the whistle going with minimal work and the engine is running like a champ!
I'm glad you got to add one of your bucket list items to your collection. You described that same feeling of jubilation we all must have when we finally get those unique models we set are sights on but feel they are unattainable. I felt exactly the same when I got those same models as well. My Goosebumps had hairs standing on ends.
That’s why i love the train shows and the thrill of the hunt. I’m so happy I stopped to look at this one, it was on an almost empty table and very dusty, but I saw it!
Unless you are digging in the boxes under the table (as I do) the $20 thing is only a memory. Twenty bucks has the value of a five at best in todays market. 😊😊 Actually I don’t even look that much any more as I’m sure I have more than I need to play with. Yes it works, you look things over pretty good I’m sure before you buy it. How often do ya use the whistle anyway? Just run ‘em. Prices are bigger numbers than I want to see. They look worse than Corvette parts prices. The under the table parts boxes look well picked over mostly only junk left.
It’s been a while since I’ve had a really good junk box find, but I’ll keep looking!
Hey Dave I got two new locomotive one it William's at&sf switcher and the other is sw8 custom run mth us army ps3 and i got some new rolling stock too
Very nice. Those sound like good additions
What a bunch of cars! Congrats on the 671. I have the 671rr,no magnetraction. Can't mistake a turbine growl. Great video. Have a great day. Be safe
Thanks!!
Nice haul Dave! Yeah those turbines have such a wonderful sound probably second only to the growl of the early F3s. Always enjoy your vids!
Thanks so much! This 671 sounds nothing like my 681, different gears make a different sound, I’m not sure which one I like more!
Hi Dave, I was there on Sunday after Church. E-unit parts and four NYC boxcars. There is no way someone can go to a big show like Edison or York with the twenty dollar challenge. Toms River this Sunday. Have fun with your 671. It's from 1946. Cheers.
There is always something to find!
Dave, I own several Turbines, a 1946 671, a 1947 671, a 1950 681, and a 1984 6200. The dual worm drive of the '46 model is great for slow speeds. Has yours been converted to the heater smoke unit, or does it still have the bulb type. They are in my opinion Lionel's best.
Mine has not been converted. I don’t plan on using the smoke unit in this one, and I’m not sure how I feel about converting it.
The 6200 from 84 is one of my best running engines
I wouldn't convert it. I try to keep things original. Just a drop of liquid smoke will create a few minutes of smoke.
Did u went over to the Trains and Things booth by any chance ?
Probably 🤷♂️ I don’t recall at the moment
I don't. Know how everybody can go to these train shows all over the country I tried it when I tetired from the marines but just couldn't do it I just go to my local train shows snd the one in Phoenix az when the city has it mostly go as far as sanding or pomona
I just love the shows, there is an excitement about it. I always enjoy myself. But then train stores are good too!
