Knife is life! One time while camping me and my buddy each caught a trout by hand. It was dusk and we put a waterproof flashlight in the stream just to test the capabilities of the waterproof feature. After a couple seconds a trout swam up behind the light next to my friends hand. He quickly grabbed it and flung it out of the water. I was able to do the same. We feasted on trout that night. Although we didn't have seasoning...
I remember trolling that lake off the freeway the whole day and no bites. It is a real hit and miss on that water. Hidden gem. But camera makes it look so much nicer on a small pond. Sold My hobie revo when I moved up north. No ocean here and fishing on a lake is not the same when you use to kayak fish in the ocean. I sold my kayak with my fish finder and it had a few gps marked for crab at HMB. Always limit at my go to marks.
