I'm Italian and when I heard the music references in Luca, my mom from the other room almost screamed the lyrics of most of the songs. It was the first time she watched a whole animated movie with me. This movie really has something magical :3

Is anyone else in like… a deep state of mourning over this movie? Though I can go back and watch the movie at any time, I still feel like it’s gone. It was only here for that one day on June 18th, and now all the excitement leading up to that day is gone and it’s just… empty.
I miss Luca and I miss Alberto and I miss Giulia and it’s honestly kind of too much. But that’s how you know when a movie is good when it has such an affect on you.

2:17 is sang by Edoardo Bennato, a great Italian singer. Il talks about the cat and the fox from the famous "Pinocchio", as we know they are trying to steal the money by hoax. It's in this part of the film because of the friendship between Luca and Alberto, similar to the complicity between the cat and the fox, il gatto e la volpe
5:14 by another Italian singer, is about a boy singing that he was going 100 km/h (very fast) to see his girlfriend, but the vespa broke down during the itinerary and he says: don't worry my love, I'll run as far as you, no stop, just run to see you"
7:44 is fantastic! By the famous singer Mina, a great woman, now in Switzerland (she has never let nobody see her). It says that every woman or girl wants to get a tan, but just one girl wants to be white, so she "get a tan" by the moon. She walks on the roofs like a cat, catching the moonlight.
10:42 another time by Gianni morandi. Now is about a jealous boy, he has seen his (gril)friend with another boy, so he tells her: make your mum send you to buy the milk, I have to tell you something". The "something" is that he's jealous. He wants to see her.
12:55 a fantastic story. It's from an old telefilm, set in Florence in 1909. In Italy some singers used to make some telefilm to promote their songs. Rita Pavone recite as a boy, so rascal to be sent in the "collegio" (like a prison for rascal kids, to educate them). In this collegio they eat alweys soup... Soup and soup... And he organize a revolution to require the "pappa col pomodoro" (food whit tomato).
14:56 is a remastered of "It's a lonely town", a sad love song.

I'm 40 years old, Born In Southern California, at age 14 My Father moved us to Sicily in a small town right on the beach, I lived there for 15 years, I have to say, I feel blessed and always hold love and honor for Sicily. Disney totally nailed it with every aspect of a small town out there. Bedda Sicilia!

Luca was honestly such a refreshing movie. Never felt like there were any motives or agendas behind it. Just felt like a movie made with love, personality and thought behind it. I wish there were more movies like it nowadays.

Have you ever felt that you've been waiting for this movie for months and finally watched it on June 18. Once it ended you felt like it's gone and you still wish to continue it.
Just to make myself clear, I adore this movie especially the song. Simple yet amazing at the same time. Seeing Luca and Alberto's ambiguous fate (Like the epilogue at the end credit arts) I really wanted a sequel ngl, it's like I want them to continue the story. This is the first time I'd ask myself "Why am I so concerned to this movie?"
- Is it because it's simple?
- Is it because the story is original and it compared to our youthful days?
- Or is it because it's Italian?
I clearly don't know. I mean I can rewatch the movie at anytime and anywhere, and yes it always brings me hope whenever I start the film. From the moment I finished the movie, it's to the point where I'm happy and downcast at the same time. All in all this movie is one of my favourite Pixar film ever 🇮🇹💙
Yeah, it would be nice to have a sequel, besides the movie never really clear up Giulia and Albertos relationship between each other did they? I’d like to see them actually bonding without Luca needing to be there or him being the friendship bridge

It was very predictable, but what's wrong about it? I didn't expect this story to be unpredictable but at the same time, even tho it was very conventional, it was absolutely amazing. I loved how they played with this convention as well. It was simply amazing, and I don't understand why just because a film is predictable it means it has to be boring. I guess it depends on expectations - but still, I don't understand how can one watch a Disney film and expect something unpredictable.
@@adambra100 The expectation of "everything from Pixar has to be an absolute masterpiece" really hurts Luca. This movie is all just about having a good time, and it doesn't try to do anything more than that. I love it more than the majority of Pixar movie just for this reason.

The last song (Cittá Vuota) is SO DAMN WELL PICKED. It has that chill Italian summery beat, but it's also very melancholic and nostalgic, like saying "I'm happy for what I've lived and I cherish those days... But I'm also kinda sad because they're gone" Perfect choice.
I watched this last night and I can't stop thinking about it. It was so cute and sweet and heartwarming and the ending almost made me cry. The animation and settings were gorgeous too.

This sound track is exactly what I would have expected for a Disney movie focused on Italian culture and I love it. This movie was especially meaningful because my family watched it together after a long day of vacation activities on a warm summer day in 2021. Every time my 3 year old daughter watches this movie I think about that time and look back with fond memories, despite what was going on in the world at the time. Good memories.

Hearing Il gatto e la volpe in the movie, as an italian, made me so happy and nostalgic. I used to listen to that song with a friend of mine in elementary school using a CD player, during the coach rides for school visits/trips.

Luca is literally one of the most heart touching movies I've ever seen. I mean, it doesn't even have a sad ending but I still cried for over an hour after finishing it. I think it's mostly because I really did have an "Alberto" in my life and I haven't met her in years after we moved. And I miss her as hell

I love this movie so much and can't stop listening to this playlist. It also remind me of my old close friend that I lost about 7 years ago. He wasn't dead, he just said 2 guys hanging out with each other are gay and didn't play with me anymore. The title 'Il gatto e la volpe' means 'The cat and the fox' and refers to a duo of unreliable men who try to fool an corrupt a young musician, asking him to sign a contract in which he gives up on the copyright of his songs. The cat and the fox are the two kids who corrupt Pinocchio, as well.
