    The Variations was my favorite and is respectable and then I went Mest MK1 and 2 and finally found something I really enjoy the sound and kept as my #1 and that's the Shuoer EJ07 Conductor.......

      There are very few things I would consider on par with it atm. Final Audio B3, original letshuoer ej07, and orchestra light would be alternative considerations. I have never actually reviewed the ej07 because the one that was sent arrived damaged. But I have reviews on the other two available for you to watch and compare. Hope that helps and thanks for subscribing and commenting. I will try and get a ej07 to the channel again when I can.

      I also just heard dark saber at Canjam 2023 and it made me think about your comment. I would consider this and Dunu SA6/SA6 MK2,/Mirai so far as well.

    how does it compares with s12 ?

      S12 is also a great set. Check out my P1 Max video for now. I will eventually do a S12 video as well more than likely, but the S12 isn't in the same league as the Variations, which is notably a step above in resolution and quality. Thanks for being part of the neighborhood!

      @@intoitreviews I sure did, thank you! And it's nice to hear you compliment Variations since I've made a serious jump for it from the Ikko OH10 half a year ago.
      The shells seem to be slightly different from those of B2 indeed in shape and/or dimensions. It's funny (not really, but... oh well) that for me the fit has actually turned out to be worse than with the Blessing 2's. I've stumbled upon an opportunity to try those out for a few days after literally dreaming about those hype-beasts for almost two years. I have trouble getting a decent, let alone at least somewhat secure fit with IEMs, my old OH10s especially so, hence it was of utmost importance to see how B2s will do in this regard. Moreso with them being pretty chuncky and thick in the nozzles. I was looking forward to finally experiencing that much lauded sound too, of course, and seeing if it's going to be my piece of cake.
      I was quite surprised, to say the least, to find out that those fit me better then anything else I've tried before! And the sound quality did not disappoint, but it grew a tiny bit underwelming with some time. I realized that I just could not help myself but wish for some more treble extension and lower end texture. The "glassy" timbre issue due to the spike in the low highs, the little bit over-the-top crunchyness has prooved to be more noticeable than I thought it would be. Not a very engaging listen too, despite me being a sucker for techicalities. Basically, I've heard them all - the shortcomings of that IEM. I liked it and it was clearly a step up for me, but I just could not shake off the feeling of it not being good enough. What do?
      Well, a few weeks pass and here comes an 11.11 sale and while being teared between the wooden faceplate B2 and the B2 Dusk I stumble upon the Variations discounted to 135% pre-sale price of the original B2. I knew about these, but I'd never even seriously considered the possibility of getting to that level. Me in my circumstances? A mid-fi summit? A tri-brid? One of the most critically acclaimed at that too? And I basically already knew that they would fit in my screwed up ears thanks to trying out what seems to be the exact same shell and build? And its cable with interchangeable connectors is surely a useful thing to have. The value of the proposition seemed insane.
      Well, here they are chilling in my shelf drawer. In hindsight, it was not a wise choice for a few reasons. Fit is one of those, but that one I could never really foresee. Should have bought two sets of B2 to have a backup and not be left with nothing in case something happens. Or should have dedicated more of that money on the actual source device (got the Shanling M3X instead of the "old" BTR5 for better usability/convenience and experienced a significant subjective downgrade in sound quality as a result).
      Whew, what a rant! Sorry for that.
      Anyways, how do you feel about mid bass and lower mids of the Variations?

    • @intoitreviews
      @intoitreviews  Před 2 lety +1

      Mid bass was source influenced, so kind of hard to say. I mostly think the bass is well executed overall with some good thump. Mids are right on the line and transition well. Hope you find an upgrade that fits! I always cosider the final audio b3 if you gave a good source.

    • @juanblanco7898
      @juanblanco7898 Před 2 lety

      @@intoitreviews Thank you! I find the lower mids and mid bass just a tiny bit too recessed myself, even though I generally strongly dislike bass bloat/bleeding and mostly inclined towards a "thinner" note weight in that area.
      I definitely feel like my current source does this IEM (and my other sets) an injustice. It tends to be described as a good pairing for "thin" sounding gear due to being on a warmer side, but I believe it's not optimal in this regard. It's warm neutral source with a somewhat softened upper midrange and treble, whereas a completely neutral source with more power or perhaps a slight boost in the lower registers might have been better for giving more "body" while not affecting the sharpness of attack and decay that much. Softening the upper registers does not really help to achieve that, it's just for those who are highly treble sensitive or maybe those who have a preference for a tube-like/vinyl kind of sound. Variations is not a very sensitive IEM and it seems to scale with more power, but it's low impedance also sets some additional requirements for a source. There is certainly room for improvement regarding both of these factors in my case.
      When it comes to upgrading the IEMs themselves I think the Moondrop S8 might be the best option for my preferences, going by the FR graph and sound descriptions vs Variations, but that's definitely out of my league.
      Have you had a chance to audition those by any chance?

    • @intoitreviews
      @intoitreviews  Před 2 lety +1

      Yea a8 is kind of a relic at this point imho. It's also a bit bright and won't likely solve your issue. Sounds like to me you might need to go andromeda... I know its more $$$ but seems more like what you're after.

  • @laquaces

    I dunno if it is me wearing the variations improperly or it is just too big for me... I always feel the pain in my ear concha after a while

    • @intoitreviews
      @intoitreviews  Před 2 lety

      It could be just too big for you, it is rather large for people with smaller ears. I'd say its really only for those with average to above average ears/internals. It doesn't take much for an IEM to become "too big." The upcoming xenns mangird tea 2 review is an example of this for me. Variations isn't much smaller... but fits me way better...

      Could always try alternative tips, sometimes those can help with fit. Also the final audio b3 is less analytical and bassy, but I definitely rec it and it will be smaller.
