Nice video, and gorgeous guitar! 😍
Often, having started a practice session with good intentions to be regimented , I soon start flicking through pdf's and trying out random licks and chords, probably not really improving anything other than fluidity of movement. So for me at least, this video lesson is gold. Thank you Christiaan !
You're very welcome Stephen!
I really like your dartboard analogy. Also, the book "the practicing mind" talks about something similar which is used by athletes which is DOC: Do, Observe, Correct. It is an approach to be more objective about your playing. Very interesting book. Thanks for the lessons Christiaan!
You're welcome and thanks for the book tip I'll check it out!
Glad I discovered your channel. Great videos. Thank you
great as always
Christiaan I like how you used the word "discovered" because that's art in a nutschell. Not what we know well but beyound what we thought our capabilities lie,
Yes, that's a nice observation. I'm using that one, I like it!
@@ChristiaanvanHemert Keep up the great work Bro
Hey Christian, great advice!!! How do you practice comping?
I mainly use my voicings system for that, the so called "Van Hemert Cool Voicings Technique" :D it basically means I would practice playing cool voicings I have transcribed in a row. For comping I would try to stick to certain rhythmic patterns.
If you search on my channel for videos on chords and chord voicings you'll find a bunch of them!
@@ChristiaanvanHemert I will certainlly do. thank you for the advice. Keep on with your channel.
hello again Christiaan ! great video! just a question, you have this video about scales :czcams.com/video/NZ-Mb2dDVpw/video.html I Was wondering ,do u use this scales patterns in chord progressions ? or do use it when u have the same chord for many bars ? have a good day!
I don't really use it but I think it's a good tool if you feel you must play scales. I use primarily my fretboard system, the "Van Hemert System".
bad joke alert
it's been 4 years idk how curious you'd be about checking if you still pronounce regime the same way
all the love< 3
It's not "regime" it's "regimen", that is a completely different word!
