Dude being new and having a nearly bare island and then seeing these beautiful full islands is so overwhelming lol I’m crying on the inside 😅
It gets worse when you unlock terraforming and you think it's gonna be so fun and great but then you realise you don't know where to start and haven't planned ANYTHINH
Same currently planning my island but its gonna be allot of bells to be moving house and destroying inclines and bridges

Ik this is late but the best advice i can give is to first beat the game. Then just pick a small section of your island, hyper focus on that and when you finish slowly expand it until you finish the whole island.
I think my biggest issue with terraforming is making all the different sections seamlessly run into each other so everything looks cohesive. You make it look so easy! 😅

i decorated my island too quickly when i didn’t completely know what i wanted so now i’m in the middle of redecorating my entire island and i feel like it’s too chaotic cuz i share it with my sister too so yes i’m not doing okay😃

Some extra tips:
Place shoes or other clothing items as decor around your island!
Try placing random items as decor, like flower seed bags, star fragments, acorns, etc.
Place picked flowers as an item and they will be placed in a vase! Super cute to place on top of tables.
EVERY ISLAND IS BEAUTIFUL- You don't have to follow ANY of these tips to make an aesthetic island, these are just some tips & tricks that I personally use! If you have any design tips to share, please drop them in the comments!! I'm sure someone will find them useful!

They need to add "pages"
That way when you place designs from "Page 1" and switch to "Page 2" the designs being used on your island will change to the "Page 2" variant from their position on "Page 1"
Would make decorating according to the seasons WAYYY easier

GILLIAN go for it, I used to be scared to ruin parts of my island but now I realise it’s not the end of the world and you can just keep redoing it till you like it.

I cannot get my island to 3 stars!!!!! so annoying been working on this for a week. so nothing is how I want it, and im going to change everything once I get the terraforming tool. its aweful right now. shit everywhere lmao.

Edit: TYSM for all the tips, I have fortunately unlocked terraforming but it’s an absolute nightmare! it takes ages and I don’t feel the same way about it anymore, I have no inspiration. I’ve played for 30” hours and my island still looks like crap! Oof.

This was great! I actually need help about when and where to place cliffs to arrange them in a varying way but not messy looking! I love how your island has so much variation and depth with the added cliffs and paths around the cliffs. You use them to break up space so well.

I like the way you have your houses tucked in. Also all you paths make the green stand out more.
I love putting down the flimsy tools around like the shovel by a garden or or a watering can by flowers. It adds a little detail/story to the area. Also, great video! Thanks for all the tips! 😊
here are my notes lol:
- add nature to your island (bushes, shrubs, flowers)
- place bushes on edges and in empty spaces
- use custom designs to spruce up your grass
- add leaf piles!
- utilize fencing to spice things up
- experiment with different items, you never know what will look good
- fill small spaces w/ seating areas (chairs, tables, stools, benches)
- use pathways (either custom or in-game designs work)
- use different sized items to add variation to your decor (tall + short)
- place fish and bugs as decor
- their cages may be unique (grasshoppers, goldfish, etc)
- put trees in the middle of your pathways
- try different things!
I’d love to see a tutorial on how to put paths haha I’ve been trying to put the same pathways as you but mine doesn’t look as pretty as yours, idk something looks weird lol so I would truly appreciate it if you could do a tutorial!! ♡
Jeongin’s fox the pathways are the same for how to get terraforming, (its free) but you can go and buy new paths from the nookshop and redeem nook miles

Best video ever. I learned so much from this. So thank you. My dad recently bought me a Coral Nintendo lite for my birthday and I chose acnh as the game. But I’m not that good at it. But I enjoy playing it. And it was so helpful when you said press “a” to do the water digging and stuff like that. That helped a lot because sometimes the buttons are difficult cuz I’m new to Nintendo but thanks a lot!
