This is my favorite version of this beautiful program because of the way the TV cameras capture the very end. It has a lovely side close-up shot of them both with their heads thrown back, Charlie dramatically looking towards Meryl. Other performances show the camera on Charlie as he gathers himself and stands up. But this one shows Meryl with her head down, recovering. The camera stays on Meryl's face as Charlie helps her up. It is a very moving image and works with the story they were telling.

Yes they did. Yet this is one of their best FDs ever. I love the softness and vulnerability in certain parts. Their emotional impact has gotten better also but they havent slacked off the technical parts either.
The Ice Dance Competition of Nationals blew me away!!!! All of the teams were soo damn good! And Davis and White were the cherry on top of an already delicious sundae! IMO, this is the best dance they've ever done. The music is gorgeous, the choreography is perfect, and they've become so comfortable with it. They have so much momentum right now, I really think this is their time to shine.
IMO, this is the best performance of this incredible program! The music & choreography has developed so beautifully over the season. I especially love D/W because, while they 'match' so well as partners, they have very different personalities: Meryl is more delicate & reserved; Charlie is powerful, "raw", & wears his emotions 'on his sleeve' (he's so exciting to watch). They create electricity that is rare in ice-dancing/pairs; but audiences around the world feel their passion & musicality!
Ha! Yes! D/W did beat the defending World and Oly champions at Worlds competition, and they set a WORLD RECORD too by a wide margin. So yeah - it was indeed a piece of cake and a walk in the park at that too. NO JOKE!
meryl has the amazing core body strength! and what do you think charlie's top is made out of. spanks? something to help support his core since he doing the lifting?
And yes Sam, they can do it. Virtue n Moir have been plagued by injury. Not to mention, their music choices over the past two yrs have sucked ass. And these two have a connection. It doesnt always hafta be a "romantic" connection. Get it together kid.
This was the US Nationals (last year). NOT an ISU (International Skating Union) event. Only scores in official ISU events with international judges qualifies for world records, such as the Olympics, all Grand Prix series, World Competition, Four Continents Championship. Though their score of 118 is a record by itself in a US National.
Ha! Yes, beating the defending world and Olympic champions who are widely considered to be one of the greatest ice dance teams of all time should be a piece of cake! You must be joking.

This FD is brilliant. I believe that if they keep progressing the way they are, at this rate they'll beat V/M nxt yr.
