Staying sober and time in itself will do so much - the the two the max part i can provide 'to the process'. The portion to be required 'done in addition' (by 'doing' for instance) is quite small. Staying sober for 20 years without doing anything (than living an ordinary life)(even 'mistakes' in all of that ordinary will do no harm, whatever they could be(1)) will do way more than the additional portion of 'trying harder myself' can plus two or four years of sobriety. It's time! And all of that path can be pray. Maybe make it one.
1 - I beat somebody, go to jail for three years, does not like it, have 'internal resistence' against it, whatever - no problem, it's just three in 20 - and new, different experience. But we come closer to god. Body and life on earth are small and 'limitations' somehow anyway.
And of course it can be about 'doing good' as well. But - 'the wisdom to know the difference': We better don't provide towards 'forces of evil' - they can be great pretenders.

Coming down from a pretty intense journey rn, had to comment that this and all you do has been an incredible refuge, now and for years! Like so many others. Watching this now and seeing you lit up from within and around you, the walls rippling and shattering with light as you merge with your surrounds and become distinct again. Literally and repeatedly breathtaking, the whole experience curated and channelled and nurtured through your voice of course.
