  • Stac Pollaidh - This wee gem of rock in Assynt packs a huge punch for its size!! Probably our coldest bivvy to date. You can see the frost on our bivvy bags but that didn't matter...what an experience!!
Stac Pollaidh is one of the best known and most popular mountains in Scotland, its steep pinnacled ridge often likened to a porcupine. The true summit is at the west end; although most of the difficulties on the ridge can be avoided, there is a final sting in the tail in the shape of a very short but difficult and exposed scramble up the final tower. This has to be reversed on the descent, making the actual summit perhaps the most technically difficult to reach on the British mainland. It is harder than the summit block of The Cobbler, and many non-baggers will give it a miss. Walk Highlands LINK - www.walkhighla...

Look, I know the star of this film’s the scenery but notwithstanding, this is a beautifully made film. Thank you. If you ever needed a definition of what: ‘Less is more,’ means your film admirably demonstrates. No need for a ceaseless commentary or verbiage; you just let the landscape speak for itself. And I, for one, am very grateful as this film shows real talent.

Hi Dave & Lisa, Wow! SP is local to me and I've been up it loads of times but never had the views that you got. I take my southern softie friends up because it is not too taxing, and they still complain. IMHO the Assynt hills are the finest in Scotland. You've got my juices flowing for tomorrow's day in the hills, thanks. Take care and enjoy the thills. K
