Thanks for the comment. I have a thin solar panel taped to the roof. It is around 800x400 and puts out 2 amps when sunny. The water tanks are 50 litres each.

@@michaelboyd7 you will find inside the car will be extremely hot with that panel tapped to roof , try get it up on racks, as u add 12 v things you will need at least 220 solar and a min 20 amp controller, more than adequate

I van only just clears the roof of the garage door by about 60mm. And that solar panel i had spare not being used. My wife and I recently spent 4 weeks and around 5500km in nsw and qld and were happy how it performed. On the switch board at the bottom there is a 30 amp solar regulator. The aux. Battery is 105Ahr and is charged mainly by the engines alternator. I currently have an isolator switch which i have on when driving and off when camping, but will change to an auto on. You can see the isolater red key on the switch board.
Conversion looks amazing, mate! How long did it take you?
Thanks. That was done a few years ago. I spent a lot of time (maybe 2 months) looking at other fitouts and getting the parts. Making it took a couple of weeks to this stage. It has evolved since then. I will be doing short videos showing current modifications eventually. Please subscribe
G'day, Do you worry about cooking near the petrol filler or is it a diesel?
No. We use a single gas burner. Its actually a fair way from the filling point and covered by the flap
