Don Elias is one of my favourite camino stories. Not sure I would have gone back but I bet if I hadn’t that I would have regretted not doing so. ❤

It was a tough day, but now that it's months in the past I have absolutely no regrets about going back to see the church and statue. 😄 Thanks for watching, and Buen Camino!

Thanks so much! At the time I questioned my sanity when walking back to see the statue, but in hindsight I'm really glad I did. Thanks for watching! 🙂

Wow. what an adventure, going back to see the statue... good on you. Yes you did your steps today 😂 The views were amazing. The albergues looked very nice in Triacastela. Siena looked very happy at the en of the day 🥰. Really enjoying your videos !

Lol - it was definitely a memorable day. Siena was usually in a good mood by the end of the day, when the walking was done. Mornings were a different story - for both of us. 😄 Your Camino adventure is almost here - Buen Camino!

Crazy! If it's anything like our adventure, there will be times of excitement, times of anxiety, times of amazement, times that are tough, and times that drag on forever. And in the end it will be over before you believe it. Try to appreciate ALL the times as best you can, and know that people back home in Canada will be wishing you Buen Camino!

I stopped at La Escuela to rest and have some nutrients after getting very hot and exhausted walking up Las Herrerias, La Faba then La Laguna. Very nice place and very nice host. And yes, I forgot to pay homage to Fr. Valina, the father of the "yellow arrows (flechas)." I was too tired and too lazy to walk back. Good job you guys. Buen Camino.

Thanks very much. And I didn't know "flecha" meant arrow. Thanks for teaching me something. Buen Camino! 🙂

Wow! This video starts with lots of Green and sunshine! Amazing landscape! so much color :) Galicia sure is pretty (We only started in Sarria so these views are amazing.) I am surprised that the path was not clear, after O'Cebriero (at 2:24). Hahaha and your story about backtracking for Fr. Elias Valiña - heck I would do the same [since I am Catholic.] Thanks for letting us know he is the original creator of the Yellow arrows for pilgrims. I really like this shot at 6:02. Effing amazing, "Brian De Palma." Also: at 10:02 - that's a Horreo, right? Overall, another wonderful video, thank you so much for sharing this colorful start of my day. Buen Camino. (PS - I bet S enjoyed her Estrella Galicia and appys while you were gone.) (PS2 - 15:02 is my new wallpaper.)

Hey N. That section of trail after O'Cebriero was not the official Camino trail. It was an adjacent path that our Camino friends Del and Stephanie from Boston led us on. When I went back to see Elias I used the"official" trail, and it was much easier going. And Elias was cool. I'm not Catholic, but I appreciate history and interesting people. I believe Siena enjoyed an Aquarius con limon while she waited for me. 😄 Yes, at 10:02 that is one of the very few "old style" hórreos you can see along the way. Somewhat smaller and square or circular in shape. Most of the hórreos we saw were "newer", long and rectangular. I don't know enough of the history to know the different historical time frames for the different styles. Thanks as always for watching, and Buen Camino!
