When you are in the Hyundai and saying it is "tippy" one thing I noticed is that you are digging over your final drives. You should be digging over your sprockets. This protects your final drives and also adds weight to the rear. That is a basic good operator practice.
Doug's machine is definitely nice but there's nothing wrong with yours for the money. You can always shim that window somehow to stop the rattle if it bothers you too. I wish I had either of those machines! Great video boys
Cant shim window man, it's not made from 2x4s. You can adjust strikers and latches.
Ha certainly not made of wood I'd agree. Not all shims are wooden

The rattle is easy to get rid of . That’s not normal . Something is just loose.
The R60 has quite a bit of hydraulic adjustment available. You can get your dealer to fine tune the settings so that it is smoother. The Hyundai also has a much stronger standard warranty than the bobcat . I like Bobcats, but I’d take the Hyundai over it any day.

We bought a 26g John Deere here before the new year and it’s freaking awesome, nice review and nice comparison. Looking a building a log splitter for the quick-attach point and run the ram off the thumb controls. Split wood with out picking it up and in a warm cab all times of the year

Hello , Doosan isba very good excavator , you 're right ! But now Hyundai is the new Doosan owner so will Bobcat sell Doosan in the future? This could cause the trade-in value of Bobcats to drop.

Hi guys! I won’t own either machine, only because I have no need for that type of hardware. That said I’ve always been a proponent of buying the best I can afford. To me Bobcat builds great machines, it’s all they do. Seeing the comparison between the two, there is a black & white difference between the Bobcat & the Hyundai. If you don’t mind the noise & vibration I am sure the Hyundai will do the job no question. You need to be comfortable though. When I was younger I probably could have cared less. Now that I’m approaching geezerdom, I would probably get the Bobcat. It doesn’t matter though fellas. It’s what is right for your needs and your billfold. See you in the next installment. Love both your channel’s.
Interesting to see you guys use the excavator for this instead of the skid steer, I assume that was just to facilitate the comparison? Light project came out nice. Love those kinds of projects that you can knock out in an hour or so and feel accomplished. I'm sure you could shore up the windows and I bet the tracks are a touch loose causing some of the vibration's. Good times, always a fan of you how you guys knock these out.
I bought a E60 R2 last year and have been happy with it. I had rented the same machine the year before and had it for three months on a job. Like being able to move around in the cab and not be cramped up.
Really enjoying mine also! Almost 300 hours in.
@@OneEyeCustoms they are. It's a strong machine for it's size. Had a turbo hose come off mine not long after it went to it's first job last year. I've got a good dealer though and they have a top notch site tech. He got me going and didn't give up. Made a hose since they couldn't get the correct one in for awhile. It was the first time they had seen it happen but evidently they had several more do it last summer. Dealer support is critical with any brand of equipment for sure.
Enjoyed this one Doug! Mini excavator will be my next big equipment purchase, hopefully sooner than later! Having one would certainly be handy for the project I have going on now!

The resale on low quality equipment is the biggest killer, the loss is usually way more than the up front savings. The horrible hydraulics and all around feel of operation on a daily basis is the penance for buying crappy equipment.

Hello N2 , now in France you can buy a bobcat E60 with 3000 hours and 30000€ but a Hyundai R 60-9 with the same hours at 40-45000 €.

I feel like my machine could easily blend in with Andrew Camarata's machines and nobody would ever notice. LOL. From that perspective, you don't really care about banging it up here and there.....and where I use it there is NO way to keep from banging it up. A zero-swing, IMO, is almost a MUST if you work in the woods a lot.
Adam's machine would be my choice because it runs quite. Doug makes a noise running that would drive me nuts
You can probably fix the rattles and invest in counterweight or make counterweights to improve the inferior machine.
I guess all easterners identify all conifers as Pine trees. I guess we only have one type of Maple out west!
Don't second guess Your excavator purchase. You're lucky to be able to have that extra machine to make life easier. Try really concentrating on being smooth. Use more then one function at a time to cut the hydraulic pressure which will smooth things out for You. It takes time and hours to thinking ahead of your next move. Watch Chris@ Lets Dig and Mike Morgan. Your machine may not have the precision hydraulics or technical design of a more costly Machine. Keep in mind the smaller the machine the harder they are to operate. Bigger heavier machines move slower and smoother. words from My Dad an old time cable crane operator! The 50 ton Orton rail crane He operated for over 35 years was slow and smooth.

Hey Doug....what made you choose Bobcat? I am looking at a new E60 vs Kubota KX057-5. Both seem really good. Did you look at Kubota or others as well? Any issues with the E60 at this point. Both are competitive in price.
The bobcat dealer is closer. Kubota parts seam to be much more expensive. My dealer has a Mobil service truck. I do not have to take the machine to them. Bobcat is much more “plush” interior. Just my thoughts, you might find different reasons to go another brand.
@@OneEyeCustoms Good feedback. I tested and the bobcat can lift mafia blocks better than the kubota. Not that I have a lot of that to do, but it is an indicator of power and capability. Kubota feels smoother on the controls and aux hydraulics are controlled without diverter. It's a tough decision. Bobcat is closer to me. We will see what happens. Thanks again!
I priced a E42 R2 Bobcat with a cab, thumb, auxiliary hydraulics, counter weight for $95,896 in southern Arizona Aug 2023. Is that average across the country does anyone else have any prices?
I bought my e60 new, pre Covid for 20k less than what you got quoted. All the same options.
Prices are crazy for everything these days!!!
@@OneEyeCustoms I agree the prices are crazy high. Jong Deere G50 equipped the same way, the quote was at $105,000 out the door.
This video came out at the right time. I’m looking to purchase a mini in the 4t range. There’s a 2022 Bobcat 42e available near me with 116 hrs and asking $69,900. It comes with a 12” & 24” bucket and an adapter plate for an auger. Erops, a/c, auxiliary hydraulic, quick coupler, and hydraulic thumb.
Just wondering your thoughts. It’s slim pickings out there. Would love to find a deal like Adam found.
Just to add, I’ve never even been in an excavator let alone operated one. LOL
If you have a need and the resources to get it, I don’t think you will be unhappy with it! Plan on spending several hours running it before you start to develop muscle memory. It will definitely be one of the more fun and useful purchases you will have made. With any heavy equipment, respect it and use caution, they can hurt you or others very quickly. With all that said, I hope you get the opportunity to purchase it and learn as you go!

I wonder how much the track tread design impacts the ride when you're tracking.
Also keep in mind that Adam only drove the bobcat on a paved driveway and a lawn. Adam ran his machine in his log yard. Definitely not an apples to apples terrain comparison in my opinion
Ride feeling doesn't make a difference in a excavator, even in high speed it's just over 3 mph. Not enough to cause bad vibration, you would not feel any difference with any tracks . Bobcat track loaders go up to. 7 mph in first speed, and 10mph in 2 speed
I don’t have any Bobcat machines but, I’m hearing a lot of guys saying that they aren’t the same machine they used to be. Apparently it’s a fairly recent change. I’m not sure how old your ex is but you might want to compare yours with a ‘22 or a ‘23 just to see
They’re partnered with Doosan for excavators now. Korean sources for things that were once American made.
