    Loving your journey, what i like about your videos is that you show not only the very well known important and rich parts of the countries but also the less known and less relevant parts like you did in this video. It gives a much better overall view of the country. Your videos are great, keep up the great work, love from Mersin, Turkey.

    Hello. We've been to Qatar & Oman several times and I find you're assessment of Qatar way off the mark. Yes, it is richer than Oman, (although not nearly as opulent as Dubai), and it doesn't have the mountains. However, Doha & Lusail are much more walkable than Muscat and everyone speaks English.
    There is more diversity and the people are just as friendly as Omanians. We find it the perfect blend of modern life and middle east culture.

    Qatar is a work in progress, the locals know it, and they are working hard. everything you see is less then 20 years old.
    Also the country has had a lot of run in's with the western governments all trying to control Qatar. Qatar has not had it easy.

    Qatar is conspicuous consumption on steroids.
    Conspicuous consumption can be prevalent in a society where social standing and material wealth are highly valued. It is a form of social signaling that involves spending money on luxury cars, expensive clothing, and jewelry to signal one's economic and social standing.

    • @WildVikingTravels
      @WildVikingTravels  Před 3 měsíci

      This does seem to be the case in Qatar that luxury and looks is the primary goal but maybe, hopefully being like somebody else or having the highest carbon footprint won't be the goal in the future.

    Just like Saudi Arabia, Qatar is an awful place, brutal dictatorship. I have the means but I will never, never visit places that are built with slave labor, where human rights do not exist. It is amoral to visit these places, just like it is amoral to visit North Korea, Russia, open air prisons disguised as nations. I get the curiosity to witness these horrible places, but please resist, don't visit them. By visiting these places you give them credibility. There are so many nice places to visit in the world, places where humans have freedom and basic human rights.

      “Humans have freedom and basic human rights”
      Literally no where on earth, you are not the one who defines “human rights” who said the things you call “rights” are actually rights
      And too much freedom is harmful and dangerous, we humans have been given laws by god for a reason
