Don't let the initial difficulty of combat, differences in class setup and the lack of quest markers get you down if you pick it up. It's an older game so the mechanics take a bit to get used to (especially if you're coming straight over from N'Wah Nordland Simulator). And the lack of quest markers is supplemented by sign posts and asking directions from NPCs and is seriously perfect for immersion, especially if you're a completionist. Plus the country is so unique and varied you really won't even care about getting lost for hours on end.
If you ever wanna play the game just know that the game is about survival of the fittest. The game will kick you on the ground with its bullshit that to thrive you have to one up the bullshit and be even more bullshit.

I suspect it has something to do with my reckless willingness to plunge into life-threatening situations for books. To be fair, I was rewarded with a sick-ass penthouse.

I'm replaying Morrowind as an adult and all the houses are awful. somehow the sixth house is almost better than every other option which says a lot about the third era.
Ehehe… Is anyone going to tell him The Argonians eventually marshal a full blown invasion of Morrowind that drives the Dunmer’s halfway to extinction before they were partially repelled? They still hold a good chunk of Morrowind from their conquests by the time of Skyrim.
