you know id almost be willing to bet, if u flashed a vbios from a ROG laptop with 3060m that it would work normally and probably perform better. I did the same thing with my Acer laptop to unluck an extra 50 watts, i would like to see yall try messing around with Nvflash and this card...

I'm sure there will be work arounds released in the future once games force you to update the drivers. There's going to be a lot of people out here that are rocking these cards. That's why if you get a graphics card from AliExpress, get one from a popular brand and seller.

It uses official drivers from nvidia and doesn't rely on the weird shady virus drivers from the seller, and even has Linux drivers. I think with these drivers, it's hard to pass up and is a genuinely viable option. I myself have an Optiplex and I'm planning to put it in there.

Doesn't make sense to activate it everytime they build something for videos for them. Windows also had a bug or feature idk where windows gets deactivated if you switch around too much hardware I think.
@@Fence07 there's been tests that have proven that it's very hard to get that to activate. Microsoft has also somewhat fixed it.
and that could be a bottleneck as well.
You don't even need to buy a new key for every build. Literally just go onto the settings, and say that the PC is just new when the watermark appears. I've activated around 6 builds off of my first PC I bought with windows 10. None had the same ssd/hdd
@@Fence07 like I said in another comment there's an easy fix for that. Just go to the settings, there's an option that allows you to say that you have a new PC and it will activate

Nvidia did take a pretty transparent stance on market manipulation in their last shareholder update, not surprised at all that they're trying to effectively driver gatekeep these things from being used for anything other than mining. They're still holding back on the 4000 series release dates to try and sell out all the 3000 series stock that retailers have, they definitely don't want another big resupply of usable 3060s on the used market right now.

I also think they are still making new 3060s. Only with 8gb now and cut down. If people are still willing to pay big money for this cheap old Samsung tech they are probably quite happy making big profits so why bother releasing expensive new 4000 series

My god I'm old... When I was growing up we were told 24FPS was real-time.... And anything over that was faster than a human eye could see. Now I'm being told that a 6 core, 12 thread 3.7-4.2Ghz CPU is a bottleneck in the system, "only" delivering 108FPS. I want Unreal 5 tech... but I am terrified what it will bring.....
Almost everyone noticed the difference between 720p and 1080p, but the differences are less obvious between 1080p and 1440p - which is why 1080p reigns king. It has the right price-to-performance ratio. Similar results happened between 24 fps and 60 fps, whereas most people don't bother with 144 fps.
1080p and 60 fps is the right price-to-performance ratio for most people, and if you want a little more you could go for 1440p at 75 fps without a massive increase in price.
Anything beyond that, and you're going to see diminishing returns for the amount of cash you spend, and you risk venturing into "five thousand dollar gaming PC" territory.

Honestly it would of been awesome if Nvidia produced mobile variants of gpus made for desktops because these type of cards have great thermals and hella efficient, just weaker than your standard and "TI or Tie" Gpus

I have one of these 'frankencards' from a different manufacturer. The fans run at 100% at all times, even when the chip is 30 degrees, with no possibility of controlling it (fans read "0 RPM" in all software I've tried). I bought it because I had *assumed* using the more efficient mobile chip would mean *less* fan noise, so, obviously, this was a disappointment. There seem to be several manufacturers, though, so YMMV.
you should be able to find a mini 4pin to standard 4pin fan cable so you can at least control the fan from a mobo header
@@moorhen6156 Yeah, that is my plan and I already have the stuff on order. I'm just pointing out another inconvenience. If it were just another case fan, that would be one thing, but I'm not super thrilled about having to manually monitor my fan speeds on a graphics card.
Which manufacturer? Such information could influence/prevent future purchases.
BTW, I own one 8gb 580 SP (570) from MLLSE. Low tier but nothing funky
@@ziokalco 'PCWINMAX' Is the manufacturer on mine. It has other issues, too, such as only the HDMI signal working and the fact that, at least on my PC, it doesn't display any signal until until the OS boots up and loads the drivers (so you can't use it as a primary card if you want to access the BIOS).

you must show the realtime power usage,,, because its incredible to see how much efficient that card is.
It is 80W, FYI. Pretty much always hits that in games or anything else using 3D. Idle is about 23W (mostly from fans and memory).

Please test the other RTX mobile cards with the new Frankendriver. It has solved most problems with drivers.
For example there is even sellers that sells RTX 3080m 16GB cards.

Maybe you should check out 6650XT MSI MERC x2 which retails around 250$. It is a much more powerful card than this with no problem except maybe a noicy fan.

I live in Canada and build budget gaming rigs and sell them. I stumbled upon the 6600M recently, and yesterday purchased one for $235 canuck bucks. Right now, the cheapest non-Chinese 6600 on NewEgg is $399.99-$429.99 (with the boxing week sale). Our own Canadian NewEgg, MemoryExpress, they are significantly more. I've dabbled in AliExpress before, and have a Huananzhi X99-TF with an E5 2678v3 and ddr3 ecc ram that's served as my home server for two years now without issues. The fact that markets like Canada are in the same boat literally as foreign markets like Brazil, is insane. It is literally cheaper for me to source parts from AliExpress (vetting them for Q/C of course), than to dream of buying new, or even used for that matter. Used, you can grab these things for more than the 6600M offerings on AliExpress!!! This is a very strange time we live in. GPU prices are up and down, but some markets (ahem, Canada), still get completely screwed with markups not indicative of currency conversion.
edit: should clarify, prices are listed on the Canadian retailer versions of those websites for canuck rupees.

Of course it is. What's more important is what graphics card you have. In their last video they ran fortnite with only a ryzen 5 5600G at 60fps. So a 7600x would be much better.

How often does it happen that a driver stops working with a certain game? I have never experienced it and I am extremely lazy when it comes to updating GPU drivers, if it works I leave it. I didn´t update my GTX 1080 for over 2 years and never had a problem with it, my RTX 3080 still has a driver from April last year and it´s still working like a champ. I do play a wide variety of games.
I do know it happens that a certain game will stop working without driver updates, just stating that it hasn´t happened to me. I am really the type who dislikes updating any drivers if my rig is functioning fine without any crashes.

I think they should test them in Linux. Foreign markets where these come from like China, are Linux prominent environments. Linux is my OS of choice and a daily driver. Makes you wonder if the creators of these found a workaround with the Linux driver that doesn't need the nonsense the windows one does?

I have a 3070 mobile laptop and if you did not use dlss on Cyberpunk and it truly is ultra settings PRESET then I can say that thing performs on par if not better than a 100w 3070 mobile with same settings. The cpu is a 5800h, which is very slightly better than a desktop 5600g.
He def used dlss, i have a 3070 115w laptop as well and i get 95 fps average on Ultra + DLSS quality on the benchmark

I do some Dropshipping and also pc builds and car detailing since becoming disabled from a motorcycle accident. Ide be curious to contact the supplier about the driver issue caus for the money that’s really good performance. I also source products from china for a “concentrate vape pen” company. I’ve always had really good luck communicating with suppliers about stuff. Most of the time they are just unaware of a problem and will do almost ANYTHING to fix it
Just like you and I they have a reputation and in my experience they will do anything to please the end user

it is such a shame. From what I've seen this card runs close to 85w. If Nvidia was cool and released drivers for it I bet they could make this card run at 75w not needing any external power.
Or even just start outright manufacturing it themselves as a "low power" card for gaming.
They could burnish their "green energy" and "environmentalist" credentials while competing with AMD in the lower end markets, which currently don't have enough product.

I picked up a rx 6600 for $209. I also have a 5600g paired with a b350m board. It will crush nearly any title on ultra at 1080p. A 500 watt PSU is more than adequate too
RTX 2060 is also a great budget card under $200 used better than an RTX 3050

500$ for a 3070ti is pretty doable trough more traditional means (including Amazon). Ali express cheap GPUs aren't rare, but they are far from the norm. Still a decent price tho.
The truly cheap parts generally come from repurposed mining hardware (both, used for mining or originally manufactured to be used for mining).

Don't do it man. These drivers are full of back doors, side doors and front doors. They don't even come with a Russian bride or a North Korean tech support agent.
Is the 6600M version any cheaper than the 6600 at $230ish?
If youre in the US, then the $20-30 you might save wouldnt be worth it. If youre in a place where regular 6600s dont have such great pricing, the 6600m would be a good choice. Techyescity did a video with pricing on the 6600m as well

Don't fall for the trap of watching videos and thinking "a 3060 should be enough" then get a laptop with a 3060M and wonder why your frame rates aren't as good. Mobile anything is less powerful than it's desktop namesake.

@ToastyBros I think you should buy an RTX 3060 on MLLSE instead. They're actually legit and the drivers work. The mobile variants of this card don't have driver support.

drivers are an absolute dealbreaker, especially for current(ish) gen hardware. If it was a legacy product with mature drivers, maybe it'd be ok. But, not a chance for new hardware. Half the fun of buying a new card is seeing active development of the drivers, improvements over the next few years. But, to not have that out the gate? Hard pass.
