Bellroy’s Hide & Seek features are fun, but are they useful?

  • This Bellroy wallet puts great thought and design time into the Bellroy Hide and Seek wallet. Providing a second billfold pocket and card slot cleverly hidden behind the first, it’s a great way to keep cash, coin or cards out of the spotlight. The Bellory hide and seek wallet review provides all the answers. But with everything else in the wallet, is there really a need to “hide” things that create more bulk? ‪@bellroy_official‬

    Do you like the idea of clever spaces in your wallet or does it just create needless bulk?

    • @3xceed
      @3xceed Před 4 lety +14

      I believe the only time it would be needless bulk is if it was bought without 'needing' the clever spaces. If that's the case, then the person who bought such a wallet simply bought the wrong wallet for their use case.

    • @walletopia
      @walletopia  Před 4 lety +12

      At times I wish I would put that much thought into a wallet before purchasing it. Often I'll look at a feature, think it's brilliant, assuming I'm going to use it, then don't. Now I'm left with a feature which more often than not creates bulk. Impulsiveness gets the best of me at times.

    • @jtmcgee2
      @jtmcgee2 Před 3 lety +1

      I use all the features, I found that keeping fewer cards in the hidden area’s keeps the wallet thin,

      I like this idea. I like to keep an extra $100. And I also like the idea of hiding my work ID. If I'm off work and looking for a specific card in my wallet, people don't need to know where I work.

    I've had this for almost 5 years now. The only sign of wear is a slight crease around the owl logo. It is NOT slimmer than a traditional wallet if you pack it with cards (I did), but even packed to the gills it is holding up to normal wear and tear. I love this so much. I will say though, I don't use the "hidden bill fold" area as designed. I just have both areas visible at all times, I use the divider to separate my USD and CAD money. It is a pain in the ass to fold the hidden fold over every time.

    I wanted to surprise my husband with a new wallet. I was trying to decide between this one and the Bellroy Note Sleeve. I decided the hidden flap component on this wallet would be something that would just get annoying. Now to see this video and how you described the hidden feature, I'm glad I had gone with the Note Sleeve. Thank you for taking the time to review these wallets.

      the hidden flap isn't annoying at all because it's hidden and you barely notice it unless you use it :) I owned one of these wallets years ago (it was given as a gift) and I regret ever buying anything else once that one wore out!

    I use this wallet for my daily use. I try not to loose the leather by not putting too much card, and surprisingly I can have total 11 cards without feeling bulk like my previous wallet. Never used the hidden area. So far I got no problem and I really love this product. I totally agree with your final score especially for the Price area.

      Hey I’ve got some really great news to share with you, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on a cross and resurrected on the third day so you may all have eternal life. If you believe and repent of your sins and put your faith and trust in Him as you would a parachute jumping off a plane at 25000 feet up in the air, He will give you eternal life in heaven as a free gift and I promise you, He will change your life forever as He did mine. He is the ONLY way to heaven and He loves you all. Please think deeply about this with urgency because this is your eternal life and soul, you don’t know when you could die, meaning you could die at any moment, so please consider this with all your heart. If anyone tells you that Jesus isn’t the only way, they are lying to you and they don’t care about your future.

    I found this wallet on the job one day and used it just to keep company money separate from my own and used it for about a month until I found the first hidden compartment and kept digging and it blew my mind. Also there is an SD Card slot and if you stick your finger in the top "single card slot" and dig left, the pouch continues all the way to the other end of the wallet

    Comparison to the premium version? Is this one significantly thinner? Does the secret pocket being removed actually help reduce thickness? It seemed like a great place for a card shaped tracker. The construction seems very different. Can we get a comparison of the hide and seek to its premium counterpart?

    • @sinepari9160

    I am getting a designer hide and seek for 140 sgd that's a steal although I'm also getting a note sleeve for 50 - 80 I have no idea which one to choose would appreciate if you could help me out 🙏🙏🙏 thank you

    • @walletopia
      @walletopia  Před 4 lety +2

      Get them both and then alternate carrying them! No need to only have one! The importance of the difference between them should come from your evaluation of what you carry, how much of those items you carry and considerations how you use your wallet. Like how you pay most often; is it with a card, cash, coin, etc. taking it from that angle will lead you to the best candidate.

    Based on the boos for RFID, I guess you've never had multiple credit cards stolen at once by a scanner. It's a PITA and I now won't buy a wallet without RFID shielding.

    • @walletopia

    • @walletopia
      @walletopia  Před 3 lety +3

      It references the unnecessary marketing hype around RFID protection using materials in wallets. Specifically, the illusion that criminals are using electronic sniffers on street corners to capture information from your card because of the Radio Frequency Identification capabilities used for "tap" payment. I talk about it in length in this video czcams.com/video/QL2HEgOFQxc/video.html
