I love Emily in Paris sometimes you just wanna watch something fun, light and cute to brighten your day
You know what? I'd love to watch something fun, light and cute but also well-written and without stupid stereotypes. First season was so low-standard, but at least second season improved greatly and was enjoyable. Not perfect, but enjoyable. Kudos to them for listening to criticism in a productive way. Without productive criticism people would still be watching trash. Criticism is the key for improvement.
@@lauragoreni3020 What stereotypes? It's a fictional stories not a freaking documentary lol
@@lauragoreni3020 then please suggest some of light hearted series... I assume you have watched enough..
But Emily in Paris its not a light story, there's a lot of messed up things happening like cheating, fakeness, mean personalities, arrogance, superficial and sexualized female characters, lot of bad things going on and many stupid things being romanticized wich brings a rather negative energy, not light at all, just dumb and mean
@@aidentan6547 What stereotypes!? The entire show is a series of French stereotypes AND Emily is annoying and ignorant
This video was literally recommended to me under a “Parisians react to Emily in Paris” video xD
Lol the nerves of her to say that they loved it.
Read the comments on this video. There are a bunch of Parisians saying they enjoy it despite any stereotypes, etc.
@@9melissal exactly
So we’re all gonna ignore the real story here, which is that William Jackson Harper is 41 years old?!
Lol no kidding I was thinking the same thing 😁
BDC
is that considered old? I find it completely fitting that he's over 40, mature but youthful.
The funny thing about Emily in Paris that's everyone speak English fluently just because one person doesn't speak French.
It was made mainly for an American audience
Emily in Paris is a show you don't take seriously if you want to enjoy it hahahah
I was just watching it and got annoyed so I told myself to stop taking it seriously so I could enjoy it 😂
@@brushyourmind3038 I don’t even know how you can watch that show and take it seriously? Like I immediately knew it was a comedy and lighthearted show so I just accepted it as it was & loved it. People truly need to lighten up, not every show needs to be a masterpiece.
I am Parisian and I like this show. It's nice to see all the spots of the city on TV and some high end places I could never afford to try. The intrigue is kinda middle school (as so many other shows) and yes it is totally an airbrush, rose bubble view of the life in France, full of stereotypes. Isn't the same with any other location? I wouldn't say it's good, but when bored it's definitely entertaining and I wouldn't waste my time bashing on it.
right? All shows on tv stereotype other cultures when it's not their culture. They even stereotype Americans on this show! Everyone should get over it, sheesh!
I m parisian and for me almost all clichés in this show are truth. But I m not agree with one thing , there ´ s too much parisians who speak english very well in Emily in Paris, It’ s absolutly wrong, we speak english very badly as I do 🤣 (I m trying to do my best to write this coment lol).
@@misstchatche3978 You did awesome!
I agree! I think it's a funny show, very pretty places and people. Not 100% accurate, but who cares, when you are bored it is a nice show to watch. Very easy to watch too.
man exaactlymy thought xD like it really isn't good but it's not a waste of a time either cauz it's entertaining ...Lmao never thought someone would have the exact same oppinion on a show like me
i'm the only one so amazed and in love by Lily's laughing?
I was gonna say that
I did NOT know that she was the daughter of Phil fucking COLLINS
wait wtf i never knew that and i like Phil a lot
i KNEW there was something going on
I could feel it that there was something in her air tonight
Wtf 😳
I knoooow!!!
She is so gorgeous
Emily in Paris is like fast food. You despise it but also relish it😅😅😅
This video is where the first time I see people speak great about that series
Emily in Paris is a cute, funny and lighthearted show. I love it when I just want to watch mindless TV lol.
Mother Whale & Baby Whale might be thinking : " Look , what a strange creature is that , must has gotten lost in the middle of the Ocean! Poor thing! " ... 🐋🐳
I love the show. It would be fun to be young again living that fun life!
it's cute but very romanticized lol even for young people
Who are we kidding, i'm parisian and i know way too well that french people hated this series and the way it depicted them. Not being mean or anything, this is an easy to watch show but sometimes it's a bit too unrealistic that's why.
just shows once again american ignorance tbh that is portrayed in the show.
@@DreaLinh every single show on tv is full of stereotypes. If u watch American high school shows and have ever been to an American high school it’s nothing like that. The shows just over exaggerate to create story lines it’s not meant to be accurate it’s meant to tell a story. All movies and tv shows are like that. Don’t take offense it’s mot American ignorance it’s a movie with a plot someone has to be the protagonist and antagonist.
I was recommended to watch this show by two French men living in Japan!! And I am loving it! I've already watched three times of season 2!!!
Gabriel is smoking hot , what's not to like about the show.
Every One talks bad that TV show
Whale swimming omg AMAZING!
I love these 2!!! watched Emily in Paris S2 as soon as it premiered and could never get enough of “The good place”!! Big fan!
Tbh, Lily is adorable asf ❤️

Nahh not with these eyebrows
Emily in Paris is great entertainment! Binge-able, fine characters, pretty scenery.
I'm Italian and I would love to see Emily in Milan or Rome...it'd be full of stereotypes but who cares..
Italians know how to take a joke better
@@pennydls5073 idk, maybe. Netflix is relying on this american/european stereotype to get more viewers... let's make the most of it

I love her outfit
She should play Audrey Hepburn
too bad it was just announced that the role was given to Rooney Mara
Rooney Mara has entered the chat

This show is nice to look at, light and super cute. Some of us want to escape reality, and this show is perfect for it, I mean people who were crying about how it doesn't present Paris accurately should chill. No one wants to see all that real stuff.
It’s based on a real place. Therefore, it should have a realistic representation of the people there.
@@elainegou what terrible logic. Then every show ever should showcase the real area they’re are filming…oh wait it’s called the news. This show is fine if you don’t like it don’t watch
"Should chill" dear, the show can't go 5 seconds without insulting France and its people. No one is asking for 100% realism, we're just asking for basic respect. Don't be so unempathetic and ignorant.
@@15nickjfan If the show was just bad we wouldn't give a shit, but it's bad AND xenophobic. If you don't see why, that's on you and your bubble.
@@camiduneson4763 i personally enjoyed every french character in the show, i think they’re genuine and fresh and cool unlike the american ones
Love you Lily and love Emily in Paris! ✨❤️
Parisian loved seeing Emily?? Are you sure? 😂. Seeing how you dress up??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣hahaha
Such a gorgeous woman.
I loved both seasons of Emily in Paris. I hope they plan a 3rd
Season 2 has amassed almost 200 million hours since it was released on December 23rd and its not slowing down anytime soon. Season 3 is pretty much certain at this point.
Season 3... And 4 are coming!! They just announced yesterday
The only Americans in Paris... other than the 200k American expats who live here. =) Speaking from an actual expat from Chicago who moved to Paris, Emily's experience is in almost no way the same to the real expat experience. It is entertaining from a purely fictional perspective.
Tell us your experience pls
If you really ask them, they will say that it’s full of cliches and that the title of this video is misleading
I like the show. The fashion is fun. Some contents are not true about Parisian but she is just playing the roll. The script writer and the director are the ones to blame I guess. I love watching some of the Parisian actors. They are amazing. The language is beautiful.
Indeed Emily in Paris is WAY FUN but it was also previously said by the director that it was meant (?) to be full of cliches since it was seen through the eyes of Emily Cooper. (I'm not French so I wouldn't really know a damn thing about HOW big of a stereotype there was but I feel like the hate it got was unfair considering how it's a show that focuses(?) on the cliches)
PS, if I was offensive in any way (cuz I just saw in the comments how it was prejudiced towards Ukranians) I am sorry but still, I love Lily Collins and I really enjoyed Emily in Paris
James needs to watch The Bucket List Family of them and the kids swimming with whales in Tonga!!!
Every French person I've talked to hates the show xD
sorry, but I love emily in paris. it's just such a light show, I can watch in every mood
I agree with you . I especially like seeing Gabriel, smoking hot .
@@teresitauy5532 hahahah
I watched EiP as soon as it was released. It was entertaining, but I was a bit disappointed about the lack of content. It felt like the whole season could've been summed up in 2 episodes
Obviously the imagined people in this imagined Paris loved it...
lily is so pretty
Looking forward for the episode 3. I love Gabriel and Emily will ended up together. We are hanging here in season 2.
Only in her dreams tho 😅🤣
I just called her as Emily cooper always in my mind

This “Disney” vision of Paris is constant in US TV series: Emily in Paris, Sex in the City, Gossip Girl…
Don’t get it … no city can live up to that hype.
They do the same with New Tork, Rome, London, all the "big cities". And it's not only American TV, it's people i general who romanticize those places.
It’s true what you say but I have to highlight that Paris seems to be the worst case…
James cordon LIY Collins found Parisians loved awesomeness job interview
Love emily
No, no they did not. Literally everyone hated it.
The show's top review on Rotten Tomatoes says 'Absolute trash'. I'm just quoting word for word. The score is 35/100.
Clearly not "literally" everyone if she ran into people who liked it.
@@michaelvielhaber9342 Wait, you’re believing an actress doing promo and telling a story on a Late Show couch? Go outside and touch some grass, bro.
@@LordAsturgis I trust that she's not telling a complete fabrication. What's more likely, that a few people like the show or that literally zero people like it, not a single one? Things are rarely ever an absolute. Take the worst show you can imagine and there will be someone who likes it.
@@LordAsturgis just look at some of the comments on here. Plenty of Parisians saying they enjoyed it as a light hearted fun show.

She said because of covid and all the restrictions.
@@sammie9421 I know, I watched the video, but i'm sure other Americans were stuck in France, or had high enough clearance to travel (if they're rich/famous enough, or is related to someone who is). It's stupid to assume that you're the only one of your kind out of 70 million people.

It's annoying that they didn't care about the actual problem from the show AND all the controverse, and James wanted to know about the Whalleeeee...

Lilly (of "Mirror Mirror" some years back) has a good sense of humour. But...the French folk in Emily In Paris ought to speak French among themselves, _oui_ ?
En effet.
Well, there are French on here who admit enjoying the show for the airy souffle it is, but the haters are mostly reinforcing the "stereotypes." I mean why so serious? Mon Dieu! it's not a documentary. Stop confusing silly, innocent cliches with xenophobia.
In 1920s Lenin also used a fictional stereotype of Ukrainians to dehumanize us to the Russian army. 15 million Ukrainians were killed by the Russian army in an ethnic genocide. You're just uneducated and generally unbothered by human rights.
