In the second test, with the ballast, the sailor was on the other side of the vessel. He probably needed to be, in order to capsize her.
Could probably do with a webbing/rope 'stirrup' rigged up that could be pulled out after righting to aid with getting back in.

we used to do that with our trailer sailers under a low bridge nearby - heel it over and go under. the cruisers watched in awe. them were the days
