Cloud by himself sounds decent - although, Burton sounds very asleep and is missing those subtle beats he usually incorporates with Cloud. Hell, it's like he's trying to voiceact in the middle of a library. :P But that other voice actor guy? He needs to do something different since he's ripping off EVERYTHING Burton is doing. As a result, everything sounds sooooo monotone.
Why do people think this is FFVII: Remake? Do people just not read the titles of videos?

Cloud's persona is okay alone. We didn't really see complaints about his voice before. But with this guy here mirroring him, almost the same, having these type of convo's. It's quite unbearable lol
With all this "acting critics" comments about Cloud's voice acting and blaming on his voice actor, but yet when it comes to the other character's voice actors, then pretend like it's not their fault...🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Besides, it's never any of the voice actors' fault if the lines are a little off. Still wonder why there are barely more comments that's blaming on the voice directions than the voice actors.
If you hated Steve Burton as Cloud Strife from the start since Kingdom Hearts 1, well then I guess haters gonna hate. Whether like it or not, he'll always reprise as Cloud for the future games no matter what.

Guys, it's a f2p mobile game. I don't know why you were expecting top notch voice acting, much more time was put into the gameplay mechanics.

People are so mean lol I love steve burton. I think he really makes the character. He did an amazing job in advent children and every other ffvii event. Loved how he made himself childish in crisis core. Blame the writers for making cloud emotionless in this specific script. This is how they direct steve to be. Otherwise, when he isn't being emo, he's really good at cloud. I think square does a great job at VA casting, aside a selected few aka Aerith in advent children haha.. be nice guys, it's not always the actor themselves. I worked with anime voice actors for years. There is always a director behind it all. Cloud is suppose to be mono toned and lost in his mind. This isn't even directly related to vii so no harm no foul. I think he will do a great job in the remake. And to answer the question I keep seeing in this video, yeah he is doing the remake. *shrug* and y'all know for a fact you gonna play it regardless 😂

This better not be how they do Cloud's VA in the remake. This is NOT what his character was like in the original VII game. He was actually kind of a doof. "Let's mosey" for example.

True, true but I guess they consider giving him his own catch phrase even though it doesn't fit the original first class soldier he assume to be.
That's part of my (many) issues with the Compilation. I mean, it's generally bad (imo), but beyond the tonal departure, I really hate how they've recharacterised/simplified Cloud (and to an equal extent Aerith, and lesser Tifa and Zack). They've made him totally one dimensional--and his only dimension is "broody mope." I understand his behaviour in Advent Children, but they never give him the actual personality he had in the original game in any of his other appearances either.
I mean, even at his most brain-washed and dickish, he was less Squall Leonhart and more "cocky dickhead." Here's hoping Square stays true to all the characters' personalities in the remake, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up.
Paracetamol Girl Its like SE completely forgot VII's script and watered it down with other spin offs like AC, which didn't even truly feel like that was the same cloud from VII to begin with lol.
He never seemed to fawn THAT much over Aeris and Zack in the original (and was take it or leave it about her), only when she died did it crack his psyche. Hell I remember Zack being a small tangent in that game that helped Cloud, because they were just managed to get caught up on a bad situation and was the decent thing to do, not some deity to Cloud.

I don't think people understand that the voice acting isn't the actors faults. It's the director's fault. I doubt they want to put too much into the budget for voice acting until it's done right for just a mobile game being translated into English.
Glad Steve Burton is getting noticed now in more roles as cloud.
Steve Burton sounds like he really doesn't give a shit in this one. I get the Cloud is kind of stoic from time to time but he's really not bringing his a game to the voice acting here. Hopefully he does so in the remake, because I seriously think he's a good voice for Cloud and I got to appreciate his dedication to the character after all these years.
He sounded great in that ridiculous looking World of final fantasy game that came out recently lol. But yeah everyone in this scene sounds bored as hell. Im sure he'll bring his a game to the remake though. That will be the first real time where he'll be the lead character in a game after all

What about me..? Well, I love Final Fantasy as a Series.
Though I admit the only one I can't really get into is 7; (The toxic 7 fans are a huge part of that...) However Mobius is the one that has convinced me that it's ok in small doses, though I personally am sick of Cloud and Sephiroth. There are more Characters I'd like to see more of... Oh well.
But I stand with my original comment... So much hate for Final Fantasy, so toxic with the loving base drowned out... So raising my voice now.

I was actually playing Mobius Final Fantasy through Cloud's Story, it was awesome seeing a new remake of Cloud Strife and still getting excited to release that game.
Has anyone actually realized that in every Final Fantasy 7 cutscenes, the songs that are playing are the same ones that are from the original Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children?

I didn't even know they were making a remake of this masterpiece. Before today, the last time I thought about FF VII was 10 years ago, when I last played it. And I just happened to think of it today, and just realizing they are remastering it. I'm kinda upset for tampering with a masterpiece but as long as they leave everything besides the graphics the same, it'll be amazing.

I really hope VII remake has Japanese with English sub as an option. I could never handle the english voice acting that Square Enix dishes out. Part of why the last Final Fantasy I really loved was IX. I have not played XV yet though, and I hear you can do that in Japanese. So there's hope.

idk why people are complaining about the voice acting but in my opinion the game is good and shouldn't be complained about JUST because of the voice acting don't say it's bad until you guys actually try the game it has its ups and downs but don't whine about every little thing YOU don't like specifically I mean I had this game since it first came out and I still play for the events and story
The reason why they put FFVII in here is to promote both games. Mobius and FFVIIRemake.
And yes let them complain what a terrible job the VA's did because one of them is the same one who will voice the main in the remake with his terrible (lack of) acting.

I kept putting off playing mobius again cuz I was getting kinda bored since I was waiting for them to update more of the story, but thabks, ign. Complete Chapter 1 (Ch 1-3 are released, Ch 4 is ongoing). FFVII content is temporary and will be releasing in a few stages, but leaving in end of March. However the Japan version of the game has it returning, or something like it.

Final Fantasy was on the map before 7. 7 is only deemed more popular because it was the first Final Fantasy experience for a lot of gamers being that it was on the playstation and it was the first 3D Final Fantasy. It couldn't have come out at a better time. However, I'd say it was Final Fantasy 6 that put the franchise on the map in the western world. Final Fantasy 4 was popular in the west as well, just not nearly as much. Of course in the USA, these games were titled Final Fantasy 2, and 3. Because...reasons.
The truth is I think you'll find just as many people who claim Final Fantasy 6 is the best of all time as you'll find people who say the same thing about 7. Especially as time has went on. More and more people who played 7 as their first Final Fantasy have gone back to play the games from the SNES era only to fall in love with them. Myself included. I love 6 and 7 both equally. They're both 10 out of 10 games for me, they just go about achieving that score in different ways...but they're both fantastic. Final Fantasy 6 was very popular in the United States though. To this day the debate hasn't ended as to whether Final Fantasy 6 or Chrono Trigger is the best JRPG on the SNES, and Chrono Trigger wouldn't have happened without Final Fantasy 6.
