Those cars are very dependable they can last so long if you take care of them

I love it when you drive faster than the fastest fast person. The odometer repair/replacement can be an $1800.00 USD procedure at a Lincoln stealership. Thank you,

Very reliable. My dad had an '86. What a tank. Full power and leather. Total attorney car.

The trip odometer has probably stopped working due to split gears
these older plastic gears break easily if you try to reset them whilst the vehicle is moving.😑
They are an easy fix for us old retired instrument techs!
A great car that proves that they built them to last when these were made.
Good luck with the bidding Bill.🙂👍💓

I was told to NEVER hit the trip odometer while the car was moving!

…the final iteration of the LTD Crown Victoria…fully loaded…and ready to haul the boat or (smallish) travel trailer…
…these low mileage examples are getting ever-rarer; and IMHO, are so much more attractive than the following generation…
…these cars represented huge winners for Ford, with over 1 million 900 thousand sold between 1979 and 91…though, admittedly the demand began to taper from an all-time high of over 192,000 in ‘79 to just over 91,000 for its final year…
…these were the well appointed, chrome and landau vinyl roofed cars that loyal repeat LTD buyers bought as a reward for a long career in the professional realm, or as a successful entrepreneur…
…though the newer stand-alone Crown Vic’s were fine, dependable cars…it’s this generation that always stands out in my mind…👀🆒👍🏼😎

@@christianbugatticg …the decision was made by GM and Ford in the mid90’s that the big profits would be made in the pickup truck and SUV markets…
…GM eliminated the Roadmaster, Caprice and the Olds 98 after the ‘96 model year…leaving their loyal repeat buyers without any reasonable alternatives…
…to their credit, Ford carried the Panthers (Town Car and Crown Vic) forward to 2011, which was the official end to full size full frame premium sedans…
…far higher profit margins in bloated gas guzzling SUV’s that retailed for 2-3 times the price of the sedans and wagons they replaced…it was a massive marketing deception..and most buyers, like the pathetic sheep that they are…fell into line…👀🤔🥲

Those with the 302 and especially the later 302 with fuel injection were deceptively quick. You could put away a lot of those so called "hot hatchbacks." The ones with the 4.2 though were slugs.

Great and Beautiful Car! Unfortunately, this car will always be undervalued by the latest model Crown Victoria Police Car, and Civilian version because Plastic Fantastic will never go away!

Is the color Pastel Alabaster ? I have a 1991 Crown Victoria Wagon in that same color, great car with only 14,000.0 miles since a 2020 restoration.

Ok the reason the trip odometer is not working is because of what you just did in the video. If you know anything about those older trip odometers, they have very fragile gears and you're NOT supposed to push the reset button while the car is moving. You only want to reset the trip odometer when the car is stationary. The previous owner probably broke it via the same way you are doing in this video.

I think you have to set the trip odometer before you start out? The car can't be moving? My guess.
