I did the same thing. I got brochures of ever model ever time we picked up our parts. I’d sit a dream about daddy buying me a new tractor. Wonderful memories we made together. I sure do miss daddy every single day.
I miss my dad every day as well. Sometimes, he’d get me a small toy if I’d been good. I still have them today. Thank you for watching

Great to see the JD roto-tiller brochure. I still have my dad's tiller, and it's been stored inside all these years. I used it 3 yrs ago, and it still runs great. That old Tecumseh engine is a good one. Does anyone know what years those were in production?

You did an awesome job on the video ! I would say these were one of my favorite tractors John Deere made . I always felt like John Deere was the rich farmers tractor for some reason . I got that same 5020 toy tractor but it doesn't have the muffler anymore .I remember as a kid going into the tractor dealers and wanting toy tractors all the time . Dang if I lived close we could play toy tractors together lol . Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend !
I was always begging for new ones, but Dad would usually shake his head and sign me to shhh. I still have every single one he bought for me. Most of my attachments were made out of wood, painted with generic hardware store green or red and put on wheels from busted toys gramps gave me from working at the dump. I’ve had two versions of the 5020, one with just the stack and this older one with air cleaner on it too. Thank you for watching
There's a dairy farm in my area that had John Deeres as long as I can remember. They were about the only ones. Now most folks have Kubota tractors which is understandable as you can't go 20 miles in any direction without finding a Kubota dealership.
It’s funny how in the beginning, there were dozens of tractor manufacturers, they pretty much narrowed down to about 7 or 8 and now back to dozens again. My favorite John Deere tractors were from the 1960s-1980s. It weird how after the Case-IH merger, all the IH AND Case dealers around here disappeared altogether or picked up Kubota or MF. I think JD are way overpriced these days because of the mega dealerships that control a whole territory and are free to charge whatever they want…like $40 for the same bolt I can buy at Ace for $3. @@LedgemereHeritageFarm The nearest CaseIH dealer is in Union Grove, N.C. over an hour away from me. When Daddy bought my 140, He bought it at our IH dealer in Winston-Salem less than 25 minutes away. Hope you and yours have a great weekend!

At one time, we had two 4020s and a 4320, there’s just one of each now and two 4455. Thank You for watching

I bought a 5020 just like yours last year in the original box and it had never had been played with for $35.00. That was a heck of a deal. John Deere really made good equipment back then. A guy I know use to have two 6030 tractors. I have rode in them a few times. Around where I lived growing up Deere, Case, IH and Ford where the most popular. They was also a good bit of Massey Ferguson 750 and 760 combines around along with Massey Ferguson 135, 165, and 175 tractors. We still have a Massey Ferguson 165 Diesel on the farm.
There’s a New Holland combine on my sisters farm. I made a video of it about a year ago and you got a great deal on that 5020. Does it have the upright air cleaner too? They made 2 versions. Thank You for watching
@@LedgemereHeritageFarm It is the version with the upright air cleaner but it was missing. I have seen the air cleaners at shows, so I will need to get one. It has the muffler in box.

@@Fieldman12 before I retired from the National Guard, I used their TL 100 to push snow banks back on the base. What a great machine to drive!
