i started stanning akb not too long ago and it’s true that it’s not as complicated as it seems! i basically just kept watching their mvs so i was able to recognize who the members are! i don’t know nearly all of them lol but i know all the current popular girls. the most frustrating part is not having english subs for a lot of stuff, but i feel like i still know them pretty well despite that. watching sayonara mouri san definitely helped me to get to know them better too. i’m excited for their next release!
Except yukirin kashiwagi yuki they have not really popular member, try to know the original kami 7 its the most popular members

as a long time wota of AKB48, for new fans, i would like to give some advise. even though solo stanning is common in 48G, i recommend of you getting more oshimen, because you will never know how long your oshi will stay in the group/announce her graduation. i say this for the good of your heart.

i'm still confused and have some question:
-what's the purpose for the teams, i guess is how they perfor at the theathre (? but... isn't the single performed but senbatsu anyway?
-what is the difference between kenkyusei and draft members?
and the most important: how does akimoto producer write so many songs without burning out or whatever haha (for those who don't know, he writes most songs for 48g and sakamichi series groups)
As far as I know, Draft members are kenkyusei that enter a team through draft pulls
Honestly how Aki-P was able to produce so many songs for this group is one of the biggest mysteries of its history lol In the anime AKB0048, they even made him a sort of demigod who just writes songs eternally 🤣

I don't think it matters how many songs you know, just that you like what you've heard. You can take as much time as you want to listen to more of their music or you can just keep to what you know.
Anyone can be considered a fan.
Of course you're not expected to know all the members, but many fans do and it's not as hard as it seems

To answer your question, unlike K-pop groups that have official fandom names, AKB48 doesn't have an official fandom name and that I think that pretty much applies to every J-pop group ever, except Sakurazaka46 (AKB48's rival group) that they have an official fandom name called "Buddies" which is named after their song, which was included in their first single as a B-side coupling song.
