Right? Although we are not opposed to different swaps depending on the project we thought it was cool to keep this one with a Toyota powertrain.
Agreed, nothing wrong with the LS, but I can't say I've ever even heard of another FJ with a supercharged 3UR-FE. I have a TRD supercharged Tundra CrewMax 4x4, but she's a bit big-boned @ 7,000 lbs.; that power in this thing would be an absolute blast to tear around in. LOVE it!!
In Oz, Toyota V8s were GMH or Australian Chevy anyhow.
Hahaha but probably contained much better internals, cause You know Toyotas are gonna last a lot longer an can take a beating Ky6!

Las Vegas was my playground when I lived in LA. I have friends who I consider family that live there now. The strip closed due to the virus and one of them lost their job. Luckily, his wife is still working, but they just had a kid. They say they are alright and won't take any help, but my heart weighs heavy for them. I'm a volunteer for The Mint 400 and my heart broke when the strip closed. I came here again to see this truck cruise the Strip as I know it. That brought back memories of the parade down LV Blvd before the race. Sorry for the wall of text. #vegasstrong
It is definitely a crazy time. Our shop is right around the corner from The Strip and we cruise some of our projects around the area so to see it like it was in this video and now empty is very different.
absolutely beautiful work and great show of craftsmanship, I'd like to see more "daiy-able" applications of extreme modifications like this. especially with a jem like an old school truck like that!

I love watching videos like this that allow me to learn about products I've never seen before, like the steering brake.
I used to see that 2 door tundra all the time. I'm glad you saved the chassis from what it was becoming LOL. That thing was looking rough the few times that I got a close look at it.

Awesome truck. Somebody needs to develope performance seats with hinged bolstering; the seat back bolster would swing to the rear, then latch back in place manually. Same for the seat bottom. These would be for vehicles without side cage tubes.

Yes it has the Tundra 5.7. Sport shift 6 speed and Toyota transfer case

Ok, I’m feeling really conflicted. I saw it, I hated what you did with it!!! I watched the video and saw that a whole lot of thought and work went into it! Ok, not so bad, pretty good actually. See the front again, no, I do hate it! Bump shifter, I freaking love that! It’s awesome! Just so you know I might edit this after watching a few more times.

a quick question that it costs that to make a toyota like that oh what is that same car
NRG hubs are only way too go. They don’t have that play that a lot of race hubs have, although they are just a works bell copy lol

How much 4 the truck, just like it is in the video ?
Something along the lines of this build would start at $200,000 and move around depending on the condition of the vehicle and what parts we use.

Why did you go with 4.88 gears instead of 5.29?
At the time 4.88’s were the lowest gears available for the Tundra axles
