    I have held off on getting the LV6 to support my LV18 for so long until I saw this video and how to properly attach it.
    Thank you so much.

    Change might have happened since you made this video, the pages on the 5.11 site for both these bags now have a PDF guide for how to attach the LV6. It shows the second method you did ("Quick Release"), and the third ("Semi-Permanent"). This is still quite useful though, as the "S-P" directions aren't quite as detailed and don't show the results.
    Really good video, I look forward to more. I've personally been looking at the AMP12 and RUSH12 recently. This video has also made me pretty interested in the LV18. So please, do those bags! (I see the AMP hanging up as it is)

    It took some searching but I found a source for those strap clips. They are called gatekeeper snaphooks and are made by Woojin Plastics. The only suppler I can find is a company called Mozet Supplies, easily found in a google search. I bought the 2.0 version of the LV6 and LV18 packs, and plan to get extra gatekeeper snaphooks to leave in the top webbing of the LV6 pack full time to make attachment to the backpack quicker.

    I was pretty bummed when watching some of the other reviews and tutorials surrounding the LV18 & the use of the LV6 in conjunction with it. I’m making an attempt to conceal carry while not having to carry what looks like a bag full of firearms. It’s for work & while out and about with the fam. I’ve recently purchased the Dart Pack 25L and also the LV10. Each serve their purposes perfectly but I like the LV18 configuration a smidge better than the Dart Pack for what I need at work. With that being said I was on the fence with what I wanted to do until watching this video. I know now that I for sure want the LV18 & can now say for absolute certainty that I will get the LV6 to accompany it. Thank you very much Uncle Rico!! 😂🤣

    RIGHT ON! Thank you for clearing up something I don't understand from other people's videos how they could possibly see to just haphazardly strap it on where the bag could fall off oh and by the way it has your firearm in it. I really appreciate the in-depth 8 minute time you spent in illustrating how it attaches to the larger bag. Game changer and thank you for explaining it because now I'm going to the 511 website to buy the bag which I was on the fence to purchase

    Excellent review of LV6. I ordered one. Would like to see someone figure out a way to securely mount or hang a water bottle holder(s)/sleeve(s) to one or both sides of the compression strap webbing that would work for the popular 700ml Smart Water bottles. The 1L size are just too big. Please consider a followup video with maybe a few mounting options with a few different holder/sleeve manufacturers.

    As soon as I received my LV6 and sat down to figure out how I will use it I realized I better get online and do a search because I sure couldn't figure a good method. Also, I had no idea what the strap and buckles on the front were for. Stupid me didn't even think of a compression strap since the bag is so small. I just figured I wasn't smart enough to utilize it for a special feature the brains at 511 designed for it. Thanks for answering all my questions it is the reason I subscribed to your channel. That and the fact that some of the bags you have hanging on the wall behind you I also have, so I am sure I will find a review for each one on your channel.

    If only there were some sort of my material that was just like instantly grippy, whereby you could just stick the two bags together and they'd stay... Sounds like magic, I know. Or, and this seems a little more attainable to me, maybe like a crosshatched section of material creating a repeated area of attachment opportunities, which would allow you to quickly attach additional pouches. And maybe the the webbing on the bag would kind of interlock with a matching pattern of webbing on the back side of your pouch... Crazy no one has thought about that...

    Another legit reason to not have a quick-release buckle in the back of a CCW pack is in a crowd it would be easy for someone to come up from behind you, pop off the buckle and take off with it.

    Quick question I unsurprisingly can't find the answer to anywhere (theme I notice with 5.11). The compression straps at the bottom of the LV18 look long enough to hold a small sleeping bag or something similar. I'm curious if you agree with that take and also, if it seems like you could also do so with the LV6 attached (both seems like a pipe dream). Thank you so much for your time and invaluable information.

    • @DothSavek
      @DothSavek  Před 3 lety +2

      Not really enough room to fit a sleeping bag or pad rolled up there, unless the bag is less than full and the item can push inwards to take up space inside the bag.
      What you could do is use a longer set of webbing or rope and tie on a sleeping bag or bed roll using the attachment points already on the bag.

  • @starfox-germany
    @starfox-germany Před 2 lety

    Is it possible to combine your first option (the one you didn’t like) with your solution? So that it’s attached close and tight but you can still have the LV18 straps around the LV6? Like for holding a shirt or towel or whatsoever in front of the LV6? Sorry, not a native speaker. Hope you can understand what I mean.

  • @janusoosthuizen3092

    @Doth Savek would there be a way to fit the LV6 onto an 5.11 Amp series backpack in the same place as a Gearset?

    • @DothSavek
      @DothSavek  Před 2 lety

      LV6 does not mount easily onto the same two top webbing loops that the gear sets hang from. Those webbing loops are too far apart to get the LV6 plastic clips onto them. You could rig a custom mount with some extra tie downs, but really the better way is to get the Hexgrid 9x9 Gearset for the amp backpack and then mount the lv6 to the hexgrid. The lv6 top clips easily clip into the hexgrid at a perfect width. This still does not get the bottom of the LV6 attached, so you might want to use some small Nite Ize gear ties and use those to hold the bottom of the lv6 down so it does not swing around.
