I personally found the LF mk 9 as the best for me also, the earlier spits shouldn't have all went up in br, didn't make sense to me. Also you should fly the venom, i dont see much people talking about it and shows how much gaijin just doesn't care about brs
Spitfires are fairly user friendly, just like every turn fighter out there and that’s why those go up in br while boom and zoomers like the p51s go down. People don’t know how to use them properly and they get lowered for this reason
The Venom is only used if you truly r chad enough

@@thatonegamingchannel958 your talking about the javelin, not the venom. The venom for me shows whether or not people expect venoms to turn well. Seeing as though i won a 1v6 killed 4 and scared the rest off, i think its safe to say people are not smart
@@coleanderson8035 the javelin at least got afterburner but yes the javelin is a true chad machine but the venom is a very close second in my opinion it’s just been stuck at 8.7 for the longest time I don’t think it’s ever been moved maybe it was 9.0 back in like 2015

Personally I would say the LF is the best spitfire, its got insane engine power, turning ability with good armament and decent speed
Same, I love it’s climb rate. Also it’s a late mk 9, the late rudder and air intake look sexy

The only drawbacks being slow and the supercharger choking out at 5000m
problem is that you can't quite get high-kill matches or nice dogfights because you usually face German teams with 2 fighters and 4 ju 288C whilst your whole team is all fighters except for one AD-4

For me the spitfire XIV is the best tier for tier spitfire. The F mk IX is second on my list but the griffon spit combines excellent manoeuvability climb rate, with speed that no Merlin spitfire has.

I think the Zero in the second match was having packet loss issues given the jitter nature of his plane. So I think he had no control over his plane lol. It's happened to me where I'd get like 60% packet loss and i'd be in a F-4J at 24,000 ft and then the game decides I should go crash into the ground instead.
My "favorite" was when there was no discernable lag/packet loss and I watched a 37mm shell from a Kingcobra fly behind me by about 20-30 ft and blow me up. This game frustrated me so much and I'm glad I stopped playing it.
It's annoying when that happens
I've had packet loss to the point where I was up at 5km's and then I flew into a "floating" mountain. It was the weirdest graphics glitch I've seen in WT.
The F Mk IX is so nice. One of my all time favourites to fly in, I'm so happy I got a camo for it from one of the warbond camo boxes
Would you look at that: Spit_flyer actually flying a Spitfire.
Also, to counter spit's low fuel amount, you can lower the throttle to reduce consumption.
While it doesn't work with (for example) 109's DB engine, the Merlin allows to maximize your fuel by cruise flying at 70-80%.
For me the usual course is: WEP from 20 to 15 minutes left (climb), then 100%-WEP for around 3-4 minutes (battle), and the remaining 12-10 minutes can be prolonged to ~18 minutes by lowering the throttle. And since there are few enemies left by then, you can use it to ward the battlefield or check the airfields. It also helps if the enemy is camping his AAA, because you can stay at ~5km for this long, keeping them in check. BUT ONLY DO SO IF YOU HAVE TICKETS ADVANTAGE.
I love this plane so much Its so balanced and fun to fly with I genuinely enjoy flying this plane along with the early seafires
The F Mk.IX is probably my most played spitfire, got the 120 rpg for the cannons which is all you need, the 60 on earlier models just isn't enough.
As for the mig-15, it could be good to compare the regular variant to the bis in the current meta. The bis is very much a task to fly in 9.7, while it's very good, you just end up facing so many faster planes that are flying at speeds you compress at, it's just a huge effort to fly well in uptiers I find.
I think a J2M5 specifically the premium 4.7 one would make for an interesting video. I personally enjoy the aircraft
I put a Tailsmens on this spitfire and grinded Britian with it. Such a great plane, and so underrated against things like the LF IX.

Would love to see some VB.10-02 gameplay! It's deceptively maneuverable with the flaps and has an absolutely insane armament.
*LF* and *HF* is all about the _supercharger._ On LF craft, the supercharger has a smaller impeller (that's the rotating blades that do the actual pressurizing), and it is geared for altitudes under 5k feet. The HF (I believe) has the same impeller as the F, but it is geared for altitudes over *25k* feet(!) LF superchargers tended to be Single-stage (how many times the air charge was compressed) with 1 or 2 Speeds (alt. settings); F & HF had Double-stage with 2-3 Speeds.

I just came from grinding Japan props (A7M2 my beloved) and finally decided to grind UK props after Soviet and US props. And man do i adore the F Mk IX, i play it like my Beloved A7M2 just with worse MER and everything about it is just so good.
Honestly (and i know pilots at these teirs aren't great) ive just started grinding the British tree, and even the first spitfire is great.
Sure before i got the engine upgrade and the incendiary tracers for the 7.7, getting kills was annoying. But you can pretty handily pull aces as long as you focus on staying fast, at alt and alive.
(Alt is good for making speed, but also because it allows you to pick engagements, which is important when your a relatively slow plane, that often gets dragged into 3v1 and 2v1s.)
From my experience killing spits and flying the early spits is: play defensively more than you play offensively. You compress and most people can out run you (with the expetion of Japanese planes). But you can handily outturn, dodge and reverse enemies.
If yohr at alt i wouldn't recommend flying straight in, try to stay fast then use your altitude advantage to Energy trap, via a yo-yo (i think thats the name of the manouvre)
-This isnt necessary but it guarantees a quick end to the 1v1 so other enemies dont get the chance to fly and 3rd party while your busy
Hey, Spit, could you consider trying taking out the j35A to sew how it holds up now? Would be interesting to see how well it performs without tracers and with all the a10s and other premiums
I played it after watching this video and it helped, I got a couple games without dying and got some kills
This isn't necessarily super relevant to this video, but what are your thoughts on fighting early jets with the F Mk 24? been really enjoying it today, and I'm surprised how few of them I see
The bv 238’s tail falls of pretty easy in my experience, i kill more of them by taking the tail off than anything else

This Spitfire always feels a bit like a more maneuverable Thunderbolt. It lacks the low altitude climb rate of the Mk I through V. Meaning that you do have to be careful about who and when you engage an opponent.
The LF Mk IX at Br 5.7 fixes this with the later Merlin 60s series engine. Even stock the LF Mk IX is an upgrade over the F Mk IX at 4.3.

Man I haven't properly flown that spit in at least 2 years... this kinda makes me wanna take it out for another 15 or so matches 😂
I guess BR wise it probably is thr best spit, although as people are saying the LF is a bit of a monster too but 5.7 br after all, that's a big jump.
SO painful to fly in sim, But for any sim fliers out there, I have some tips to ease the pain.
1. Set controls so you can't pull elevators, make 10% unachievable
2. ease the controls, get used to the spitfire flopping into place
3 keep fast - they only turn well above 170mph
4 climb at 95% throttle to avoid overheating
5 set convergence to 250 with the 7.7mm - get real close when you fire
6 best to get behind a fighter before you fire - avoid convergence shots
7 avoid bombers EC3 and up
8 go easy on those controls, use your rudder
9 -5 to 7 elevator -3 to 4 rudder trim at 1000m
10 roll before a dive to avoid carb problems
11 never ever keep pulling in a turn, blip it... she keeps turning, think about your next move.
12 check 6 every 2-4 seconds
13 avoid dog fights with more than 1 plane.. run away
14 70% throttle for take off.. no flaps
15 flaps rip off above 150mph
16 your 7.7mm mg's are crap.. it make take a few attempts on you foe.. be aware of other aircraft coming to help your foe
17 if you using the 20mm hispanos 400m convergence (if you using any with a mix of both go back to 250m and get close)
Hope this helps someone out there.. The flight model is so broken it heart breaking.
I'm getting upto 10 kills a EC match, but it's hard work, I have to be alot more careful than say a zero/p47/g55/bf109.

great videos i fly the spitfire a lot in dcs and il2 but just not doing good in war thunder with hotas and cockpit view. i may have to just use chase view like many of you to have a chance in the r b do you use joy stick or mouse and keyboard to fly in r b

LF is basically a mk9 with better fuel and the engine cranked up to 11 at lower altitudes.
vets always claimed the mk.IX was the best spit. so its historical accurate
The thing about the LF is it has the 150 Octane fuel. From what I understand that’s why it’s 5.7

personally, i reckon the mk.VC trop. is the best. it used to be the mkVC because it has 4 20mm hispanos but it got moved from 4.7 to 5.0. now that its at 5.0 its 288 tier now. the trop is the exact same, a little more bulky but at 4.7 so not constant full uptiers
it also has a higher repair than the Mk Vc

I would really like to know how you feel about the J29F at 9.0 I feel like it would benefit from a downtier but at 8.7 it could face stuff like the shooting star but I’ve had plenty of matches in it where I face supersonic jets with way better missiles. Idk but I really like the plane it’s just frustrating to deal with F104s that I can’t touch.

Personally I find the FR Mk14 my favorite. The LF is the OG Spitfire in my opinion, the one plane that always been good and always will be good but I'm such a sucker for that griffin engine and the playstyle reminds me more of a 109 than a true spitfire
I used to enjoy the 14 but something put a hole in that (probably G56 spam at the time). The 14 and 17 are both really good.

Hey I recently unlocked the Lightning F6 and I have been struggling a lot. i've seen the videos you have that are about a year old and in my experience 9.7 br is completely different. I would love to see another video on the lightning but that might be too much to ask for. Usually what I do is climb really high early and then just try to boom and zoom, you got any tips on how to fly it?

The Spitfire Mk IX and LF Mk IX are the two best Spitfires tier for tier.
They are not the best at anything aside from climbing, but they're always better at something.
Against Germans and Americans, you can rofl-turnfight half of the enemy team as long as you keep your SA,
against Russians, the same applies + a high altitude advantage and against the Japanese you are either faster or better at turning.
I love the F mkIX. It is so much better at 4.3 air RB than the mkVc variants at 4.7 and 5.0...
If we could take the terrible 7.7mm out of the plane and get the advantage of reduced weight, or add more ammo to the 20mm to be the same weight, then the MKIX would be even better as would all the rank 2 spits
Edit: BTW I am not good at WT and I play on xbox, so prob different experience to others. But it is nice to fly and it suits my play style. Still compared to the yak3 at 4.3 it is hard to say it is OP, just easier to use than the yak3 or bf109 g2

For example J29D vs J35A or Hunter FGA9 vs Reaper vs Vixen vs Harrier or AV8A vs F5 vs A10.... I mean a lot of people wants to get high tier premium to grind the rest of the tech tree annnd cant decide whitch one should they get.

aside from the 7 mils this thing is absolutely stupid at 4.3. The seafire mkIII is the same thing with a less powerful engine if I'm not mistaken and it's at 5.0 (still with 7 mils)
I’m not sure about the engine. I believe it is a better engine for low altitude, but the aircraft has a slower top speed due to being heavier, and probably better acceleration. Definitely weird that it’s two br steps above the Mk 9.
Wrong, the 7.62s are glorious if you use them right because they're balistically matched with the Hispanos. Set the 7.62 to tracer, set the Hispanos to stealth. All the power of a stealth belt with additonal fire chance and you can track your shots.

Anywhere around 300-500m is about right for dogfighters since you'll generally be fighting at close range

Unless the 109 is coming down from space at 600km/h and boom and zooms the spitfire then obviously it will win, but that isnt because the aircraft is better, its just an unfair fight. If you are both coming head on or the same altitude the spitfire will beat anything.
