- In this (long overdue) video, we use a Maker's Leather Template for a mini padfolio (5X7 notepad). This padfolio boasts a pocket for loose papers as well as business cards. A pen pocket could easily be added as well. Leave a comment if you have any questions or have an idea of something you would like to see made! Id appreciate it if you can also click that subscribe button!
Best Trick : when applying contact cement :: put the piece to the edge of your table and brush off the edge of the table. You will entirely cover it and not get any on your work surface.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and skill. My only critiique: It would have been nice to see the finished product.
So if you want to add stiffener, you have to line it? Correct? Would the same weight leather be too thick?
It would be a little thick to use 2 layers of 8+. If you want to use 2 layers of the same thickness I suggest 5/6 or so.
what is the black pad that you use when you are punching your pricking irons? Do you sell those, or is there another supplier?
Here it is: makersleathersupply.com/products/mls-black-punch-o-board?_pos=1&_sid=f859e1e5a&_ss=r
Thanks for the video Aaron.. two things... Will you be making the tote bag template available using the puzzle pattern? I'm making several and a hard template would sure be nice. How about a quick video on the ribbon wallet too? Thanks again, I watch all of your videos and make along with you.
I’d love to see a video on making a holster from the pattern packs
I really like that leather you using in this video. It's Labor Day weekend I was looking to call your store and inquire about a side of Hermann Oak for a belt interior projects that I'm working on I was looking for some advice as to whether or not Hermann Oak for interior was too much the exterior was Wickett and Craig English bridle
There's no reason you can't use Hermann Oak for the interior as long as its the appropriate thickness.
@@makersleathersupply1220 I have the 8 and 10 ounce Wickett and Craig I was going to go with six and seven ounce interior Hermann Oak. I'm going to call your store today I have a few questions I don't want to go back and forth on your CZcams channel but thank you for your response
We will not be open until Tuesday after the holiday.
Thanks for the video. Are you going to be making a template for a 5 slot small front pocket wallet anytime soon.
Well well well, when I put on ma leather, and rock to sum Metallica, Delta Parole, Foo Fighters or the Smashing Pumpkins I feel like I can do anything in the whole wide world.
What brand of contact cement do you use? The cement that you use looks like it is easy to work with vs Barge cement.
It is made for us by a company in Missouri. It is available on our website. Www.makersleathersupply.com
Nice video. What's the waxy leather called and is it in stock?
Just Curious, why not mark and punch stitch line from the inside instead of measuring from the outside, when you made the first inside stitch? Also I didn't see a Mini Padfolio Template on your website.
Because I always punch the holes from the outside. It can make for nicer stitching.
@@makersleathersupply1220 Never thought of that. just started leather working and I thought a hole was just a hole. thanks for teaching me differently. Love your video's by the way. I have a bunch of your templates, they are nice.
Think I’ll pass on the “poster board material “
Ok, well thanks for letting me know I guess...
what size thread are you using for 8spi and also what size is the stitch groover?
.8mm and medium
