From a Dodger fan I saw it coming.. hats off to the Phillies. Played good on both sides of the field. They used their Ace's in this series and it shows how important good pitching is.
Saw it live on the baseball network and the guy's in the booth were praising the catch effusively, so not sure it wasn't talked about. It was an outstanding catch by Rojas.
Folks, especially some Philly fans, want to down the kid because he doesn't exactly kill it at the plate, but to me, saved runs is the same as a run batted in and he's been saving runs since he came up last year.
As a dodgers fan I agree right now if we want to compete with you guys we need to make moves at the trade deadline and get our other guys back from injuries.
Phillies fan here. The sweep of a beat-up Dodger team in early July doesn't really mean much. If the Dodgers get healthy, we will hopefully see them in more meaningful games down the line and let the chips fall where they may. However, after hearing all season that we hadn't played anyone and weren't as good as our record, it was great to see the Phillies let everyone know that they are for real. I don't think Shohei is undiscipline right now. We are in the statcast era where every batter's weak point will be revealed. Phillies has just cooked him properly this time, but I believe Shohei will make some adjustments very soon.

They were 50 - 31 at the halfway point of the season, and 5 - 8 since then. Pitching, mostly due to injuries has been horrific, but there is absolutely no run support. In those 13 games, they've scored 60 runs, or 4.6 per game. However, that includes an one game explosion of 14 runs vs. SFG. Take that away, and 46 runs in 12 games, or 3.8 rpg. In the same 13 games, they've given up 84 runs. 84! Let that sink in for a minute. That's 6.5 rpg. In 5 of those games, they've given up 9 or more runs, of course all losses. That Roberts has no ability to make adjustments of any meaningful kind is exactly why they've lost 6 in a row in the playoffs, and are 3 - 10 in their last 3 playoff series dating back to 2021 NLCS, to teams we finished 18, 22, and 16 games ahead of in the standings. Dude is clueless. the first of those 13 pathetic games was a 4 - 0 win vs. CWS. In the other 12 games, they are 4 - 8 with a starter era of over 9. Not going to win very many games like that.
