- When *Njeri; not her real name, left for her rural home to bury her brother, she left her three daughters under the care of their father. Though Njeri's firstborn was not a biological daughter to him, Njeri never thought that the man she had been married to for more than 10 years, would turn to her and harm her.
That particular day, he sent the other girls from the house, sending them to a nearby shopping centre. He then turned to the elder daughter, forced himself on her and also forced to take her mother's family planning pills!
Njeri has tried to commit suicide three times. The last time she tried, her three year old son pleaded with her until she changed her mind!
