    it is a great looking truck with allot of realistic details, if you pack full of grease the gearbox it will help with the noise and the shocks just buy good quality replacements 🙂🙂👍👍👍

      @rccrawlersmid-wales645  Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks! If I put too much grease in the gearbox it can gum up the gearshift, though, which is unfortunate. I think I've finally solved the shifting issue, though - I might have to do a little vid on that! 👍

    Hey Steve, nice one dude! Really enjoyed hearing your views on the HC6, the 17 minutes flew by - so must be good! I really like the humour you inject into the mix, it's pretty infectious. Air shocks? That's a new one on me. Whatever you do, don't do anything as cheesey as cutting to the body being on. The weathering turned out great, I need you to do my Range Rover - looking forward to getting some of that special scum all over the shell. Take it easy, mate. :))

    Nice one sir! The same Cross issues we would testify, and really why they haven't issued a single speed conversion option to remove 90% of the slop I don't know. As you say, two speeds (a bit fast and way too fast) are redundant mostly.
    Except for childish 8x8 wheelspinning on gravel (cough)
    Extra weathering is a success to my eyes, so job well done. And those tyres are THE tyres for trucks I reckon. But copying is beneath me. And too expensive. sigh.

      @rccrawlersmid-wales645  Před 3 lety

      Well, you say copying is beneath you, but we've established that you've got the same truck as me (CA30), and if that's not copying then what is?
      Sure, you blustered something about having bought yours months before I got mine, but frankly nobody's buying such a technical defense when you can't even prove time exists.

    I wanted to say I really enjoy your content and it inspired me to grab one of these😎!
    How did you go about painting the chassis, axles and suspension? Did you paint all the pieces individually before assembling or did you have it assembled then painted? Did you have to use different paints for the metal and plastic parts?
    Thanks!

    • @rccrawlersmid-wales645
      @rccrawlersmid-wales645  Před 2 lety +1

      Well thanks very much! You've totally made up for the mean comment somebody left yesterday. 😎👍 I built this chassis up and sprayed it all together - just masked off the bearings and shock shafts - using a regular can of primer suitable for plastic and metal. Then I sprayed the colour (again just a regular spray can). It's all stuck really well except for on the bumper, though maybe I didn't prepare that properly. Oh, and I hung it up to spray it, first from the front and then the rear. Being able to spin it around and get it from all 'up and down' angles really helps cover all those awkward little spots. Hope that helps, and enjoy the HC6! They're really fun trucks.

    • @rccrawlersmid-wales645
      @rccrawlersmid-wales645  Před 2 lety

      Thanks! The original tyres look fantastic, but they're very hard and don't grip very well on rocks or in the wet, so I swapped to the Gmades. I'm in Wales in the UK - it's a beautiful place!

    grease man lol. that gear box looks awfully dry in there... some good grease might solve the noise issues...

    • @rccrawlersmid-wales645
      @rccrawlersmid-wales645  Před rokem +1

      Actually, I tried LOADS of marine grease, but it there's so much room in that box it just made a massive horrible mess with the water and silt that inevitably made its way in. It didn't make it any quieter either, so I cleaned it all out and went thinner. I've done everything I can to try sealing the gearbox better, too, but it's free to get in through the motor. Can't remember if I did it before or after this vid, but eventually I swapped some of the gears to the plastic versions and that really helped quieten it down. Haven't had any issues with the strength of them yet, either. 👍

    Cracking rig mate. Isn’t that the same gearbox as the Bc8? Noisy brutes )

    • @rccrawlersmid-wales645
      @rccrawlersmid-wales645  Před 3 lety +1

      I think it is, and it looks the same as the ones in the MCs as well - though I'm starting to realise there are two slightly different versions and some are quieter. My one is proper deafening... meanwhile, I have a mate with an MC6 that's practically silent. 🤷‍♂️

    This truck is awesome and after seeing a few of your videos of it, I decided to get one. I may be stealing the axles for my tf2 until I have the space to build it. How were the inner foams for you? Mine are deformed and very soft, is this normal??

    • @rccrawlersmid-wales645
      @rccrawlersmid-wales645  Před 2 lety +1

      The foams on the HC6, you mean? I don't honestly remember because the tyres are so stiff the foams barely do anything anyway! I switched to Gmade tyres instead, though I had to fit narrower rings just to get them mounted.
