Amphibia is an American animated television series created by Matt Braly with a stunning soundtrack composed by T.J. Hill. Let's get one thing out of the way, ever since my friend introduced me to the show (and another one that I won't mention...yet) I absolutely fell in love with it. It gave me vibes that Gravity Falls did, and since I covered Gravity Falls already, I decided to cover Amphibia next along with a secret third cover.

Prologue: Overture
As the opening to the overall orchestration, the Overture gives a feeling of anticipation with high strings, subtle synths, and rising clusters, Eventually exploding into a grand orchestra with a choir and more intense synths. This is followed by a familiar motif from Anne's Theme played by the brass section.
Chapter 1: Opening Theme
This is the most well-known piece in the soundtrack. A plethora of strings greets you accompanied by some brass staccatos, and snares. This intensifies as it builds up to the chorus, which is then played by the full orchestra and choir, ending with powerful chants and explosive percussion.
Chapter 2: Welcome to Amphibia
This is a variant of the opening theme that originally had lyrics. Though he has stated that it was a good song, he didn't want it to be the "opening theme". The cover starts large strings sections, which are followed by rising rock instruments and drums. The chorus includes an electric guitar lead and high trumpets.
Chapter 3: Sasha's Theme
Sasha is an interesting character, a typical high school popular kid but with a heart. The drummer's call at the start represents her attitude, and strength while the ending parts are more reminiscent of her good heart which wins out at the end of the day.
Chapter 4: Marcy's Theme
I decided to go for a subtle approach for Marcy. Having quite a tragic story (even more tragic after season 2) I decided to go for all strings and soft brass without percussion whatsoever. Using certain chords to create a melancholy, and even nostalgic feeling.
Chapter 5: Anne's Theme
The second most well-known song on the soundtrack. This song was originally composed as a tie to each episode which is played on the credits. It presents us with subtle strings which builds-up to an explosion of orchestral harmony. The choir leads the melody as everything concludes with a strike of thunder and the sounds of frogs croaking.
Finale: No Big Deal
"A symphony must be like the world. It must contain everything." - Gustav Mahler
A quote from one of my favourite composers that I kept in mind as I composed the finale. I went full-on Hiroyuki Sawano and began the piece with German Narration as if you're watching a movie trailer. Accompanied by rising instruments playing two very familiar tunes.
This eventually becomes one full blast orchestra playing full velocity to the theme of No Big Deal. I decided to do No Big Deal as the finale as this was the song last played by the three girls together. It continues with strings, brass, and rock drums. A choir leads the way into the chorus, but before that, a battalion of taiko drummers plays as if they were the ones singing the lyrics.
The chorus is played by full battalions of strings, brass, and drums, making a powerful combination. This is then followed by another drummer's call, signaling the entrance of Sasha in the original episode, which is then followed by an accurate recreation of her guitar solo in the song. With Sasha representing the rock instruments, Marcy with the electronics, and Anne with the orchestra, The finale explodes with everything accompanied by a large choir. The coda slows down the piece, and finally, for a grand finish one last time, everyone plays Anne's Theme, The Opening Theme, and No big deal, all at the same time.

"The Hardest Thing"
It's been seven months since I put up my very first Epic Orchestral Medley themed around Amphibia. Little did I know that this would be the catalyst for the new style and format for all my orchestrations that came after. A retelling of stories through music, a symphonic adventure unlike anything that came before, from powerful overtures, emotional tributes, and monumental finales, Amphibia definitely did more than just that. It gave me the chance to step up, and attempt things I've never done before, which proved difficult for me to do before hand. I needed to "change", and that's what this show has taught me. "Change and growth". 💗💙💚
With the show's end, It's amazing to see how these shows convey new ideas, and really inspire people. Henceforth, Thank you Matt Braly, TJ Hill, and the rest of the wonderful team who worked on this amazing series! and I am beyond honoured they even went as far as recognizing this very medley I composed! Thanks again to all the fans who I've met along this journey, and I will see you on the other side! 🐸💛🎼

Amphibia is the perfect example of "Don't judge a book by its cover." On the surface it's just another kids cartoon but in the end it makes you cry.
LITERALLY THIS!!! I instantly judged it as another "typical" kids show as soon as it premiered. Then, I finally watched it March of last year and it completely proved ne wrong. Amphibia is now not only the best Disney channel animated show in my eyes (second is P&F), but it is on the same level as avatar the last airbender. And mind you, I don't throw this compliment around so lightly. Avatar is the goat and the fact that Amphibia nearly matches its energy in its own way of course, IS A HUGE COMPLIMENT to both Matt and the rest of the crew. Honestly, what else can be said??? This show truly delivered in so many ways and taught me 2 things: animation truly is a medium and modern Disney isn't nearly as bad as people say it is. For those who look at a show and think it's dumb at first glance, I implore you watch it with an open mind and give it a chance. You may end up liking it more than you think. And if you don't? THAT'S OK.

God, what an absolutely great cover. This in itself felt like an epic quest. I have a pretty confident feeling I know what's next, but I won't spoil it for others for obvious reasons. Least to say though, "you're the music lord now," though I feel like we all knew that already-

I've seen the Amphibia's finale many times, and it's something I still can't assimilate... I just come here to cry.
Marcy's theme makes me think that we have lost marcy forever (hopefully not....why did they do her like that😔😔) but then Anne's theme start playing giving me a little hope that she will be ok.....

Amphibia is one of those shows that could make you cry, celebrate, and scream in anger all at once.
I listen to this on a daily basis while doing my homework.
After the Finale, this is so much more moving and touching...
Sasha's Theme just fits after all the character development she got after 3 seasons. She learned to not be bossy or pushy, but instead help others and nurture them instead like a true leader. Because leaders don't just make followers, they make other leaders.
When I got through to Anne's Theme, I had to physically push my tears back in because HOLY FREAKING HECK DID YOU MAKE ME RELIVE ANNE'S DEATH. The emotions are just like that of a final goodbye, not knowing when or if you'll see the ones you love again, but carrying on and moving on because as much as it hurts, we need to let go of some things and move on.

What I love about your interpretation of Marcy’s theme is that it perfectly captures the tragedy of her character. It’s easily my second favorite version of the theme, just after the absolutely heart wrenching version that played during her confession in True Colors.
5:06 Listening to no big deal while annihilating king andrias in newtopia with my shiny sword and an extra khao niew bing in my pocket really hits different. Great job Karu! Oh and if anyone doesn't know what im talking about it's an amphibia fangame called 'Road to Newtopia' and i definitely recommend it.

Music in TV/Movies is so important and I feel like doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. This is amazing!
i really don't know what to say about this arrangement that would properly capture how impactful it is... i listened to it for the first time on the way home the other day and had to pull over for a moment because i was starting to cry a bit too hard. it's really wonderful when a piece of music reminds you of how much love you have for something, and this piece did exactly that. fantastic work as always and i look forward to everything you do next!!

I had to come here after the finale premiered. These remixes honestly really show my emotions at the moment considering how much of a mess I am after finishing watching the premiere. I’m so gonna miss this series so much.
I have had dreams where Amphibia continued. I wake up knowing it probably won't happen, as it had the perfect finale. It's so strange that a show I randomly watched on my 12th birthday on a hotel TV just to pass the time would become a huge part of my life, and how I connected with one of my best friends.

My favorite is Anne's Theme and No Big Deal, Anne's Theme is just so dang epic plus the thunder clap in the track fits that atmosphere & No Big Deal completely wraps up the medley perfectly 🎶, Thanks for doing this amazing orchestral medley of Amphibia. Please do an epic orchestral version of SCVIV: Dracula Battle in celebration of Super CastleVania IV's 30th anniversary this October 🎃.
This... This is simply true music for my ears. Wonderful. Outstanding. Beautiful!!! This is such a great piece of work! The OST of Amphibia was alreayd one of my modern favorites and what you just did here is truly remarkable! The opening, Anne;s Theme (My personal favorite piece in the whole show) and No Big Deal are the major highlights for me. If somehow Amphibia were to be brought to the big screen, I can totallly imagine these versions playing and... oh gosh, massive goosebumps right there!!!

Listened to this for the first time after the series finale and I started crying again. Thank you Matt and thank you Amphibia for this wonderful, beautiful journey! Although I am sad to see the series end, I'm glad I got to see the masterpiece that it became! Amphibia does and will continue to hold a special place in my heart for forever

I literally cried when I finished the last episode of S3... It's so sad that sprig and the rest of the townsfolk still remember Anne even tho it's been 10 years, while Anne still remembers all of the people she met... And having no way of going back to see them is just sad...
