Is this version of the Bal Swing basic obsolete? They have lead going forward on 1 and backward on 5, while virtually everyone else has lead going backward on 1, and forward on 5 (and possibly 3-4 as well).

Some people like keeping up with traditions, especially learning a dance from the old times. If you don't like it, go somewhere else or learn contemporary dance or hip hop or whatever is en vogue atm. This is not the place for your politics.

Progress is achieved by keeping the good while throwing out the bad. But apparently you think we should ignore sexism by calling it "traditions." That argument has been used to continue female genital mutilation and forced childhood "marriage." But I guess we shouldn't point that out because it's -- what? -- oh, yeah, "politics." Yours is a classic Neanderthal response: "go somewhere else." As if every part of our life doesn't involve "politics." What you see as the inconvenient and uncomfortable truth of "politics" is considered just basic morality and human decency by others.
