I think it’s because the game puts your hurt box as standing up when you don’t tech for some reason. That’s why some f tilts can jab lock

All hitboxes are broken in the moment you don't tech. The game will put your hitbox as if you were standing (That's why you can end the jab locks with an Up Smash sometimes)

As a DDD against an Isabelle I returned a pocketed gordo with a fully charged jet hammer while the ground trap slowed me down enough to break her shield with the gordo hit her with the jet hammer and the gordo returning from the ground trap gave the finishing blow
