To be honest Bev, the internal mic is adequate for narration. Not a helpful comment since you'd already bought the Rode at this point.
OK the background audio doesn't sound natural due to the wind block editing you did but it isn't too bad.
The first mic, well, mono audio was upsetting to my right ear 😆
And in regard to battery changes etc - can you use the GoPro and charge it at the same time? Never owned one. A small power bank would solve that issue.
