We are saved by faith and faith alone, but if it’s producing nasty fruit it sure isn’t the faith God is looking for. Should we be breaking away from God, it means we weren’t saved to begin with, as no saved person would WANT to break away ever.
Amen! This is a passage (Matthew 6) I have been meditating on recently. I thank you brother for making it so practical. The message is clear, but our understanding about what the kingdom of God is really all about is so skewed and small. Thank you for challenging us to think big and to understand that God wants this world harvested. We are to make that our priority. Christ said that the fields are white and ready to be harvested. Truly, we don't trust God enough. I am guilty. I have visions for things I can see done for God but have yet to step fully forward into those experiences allowing Him to ordain and unfold those visions that are according to His will because of waiting for the nebulous "right time". I can no longer delay. I have been visiting different churches and have felt the same when I look at how little our congregations are doing. God's church is to be a beehive of outreaching, life transforming activity. Thank you so much for sharing. Blessings to you.
As we boast on social media, "it's complicated," the people were making lame excuses to avoid doing what was essential, rebuilding the temple, in favor of doing what pleased them (Haggai 1:2).Another important message in Haggai 1:8 is God's admonition to eliminate the complications often inherent to satisfying pleasure by remembering to do what is right in God's sight, "1.Go up to the mountain, 2, bring down wood, 3. build my house and I will be pleased with it." God strips away all else and the thing that is pleasing to Him, in contrast to what pleases us, is simple, direct and unencumbered. Going His way simplifies, reorders and clean up your life and it follows that things that please you falls into place or falls to the wayside to His glory and your benefit.

Do not try to understand what Jesus was saying by thinking of what you have been told by religious teachers. They can only repeat from the scriptures and have no personal knowledge of the Kingdom of God or Heaven. God is not contained within any one place but is everywhere, as are the heavens and air above you. The Holy Word spoke truly when it says: in God you live, move and have your being. For the Kingdom of God is above, around and also within you - and you can enter the Kingdom of God. But what is it? It is a state of mind and heart which is fully possessed by God - our Father. When you are in this state, the Father is the head of your body and directs everything you do and all of your life. How can that be? It is possible to be so emptied of selfish desires, enmities, angers, jealousies, greed, and vindictiveness that only God is left in control within your mind and heart. What happens then? Then you enter into the State of Being which is God-directed. It is altogether beautiful and glorious. It is Love, it is generosity, it is caring for other people as you care for yourself, it is non-judgmental since you accept other people exactly as they are, knowing that they too are God’s children and are equally in the Father’s care. It is happiness beyond measure, beyond description, it is joy in the beauty of the world, it is life unlimited and increased energy, it is health and it is the fulfilment of your every need before you even know that you have such a need. You suffer because you do not understand how you have been created, and the true purposes for which you were born. You were born to be sons and heirs of the Father, you were born to enjoy all that the Father is in Himself, and all that He can give you. But you turn your backs on all the glory of the Kingdom and try to find pleasures in earthly things. While you do this, you will never find the Kingdom of God; nor enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. How shall we enter the Kingdom? Jesus has already told you. You enter the Kingdom of Heaven when you repent of all that you are in your heart and mind. When you take your evil to the Father and ask forgiveness and pray for the strength to be cleansed of your evil thoughts, words and deeds, and you finally get rid of them, then you may be sure that you are about to find the Kingdom of Heaven. When you have accomplished this, you will find that your attitudes towards others are changing, for the Father will be doing His Love Work within you. More than this, you will find that the Father does satisfy your every need.
He says that Jesus is talking to Christians in Matt:6? Christians do not exist yet, ie; the Body of Christ. Jesus is talking to Israel; the fact that He speaks of gentiles as a class of people here is because this is BEFORE the Body of Christ, where there is NO Jew or Gentile. The fact that gentiles are mentioned here is because His earthly ministry was to the Jews, (Rom 15:8) while middle wall of partition is still in operation, separating Israel from all other nations. They are under the law, before the giving of the Holy Spirit, when NOBODY was saved by the gospel of Grace. This commandment is not a condition that is required for salvation as revealed by the Gospel of Grace, faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. At this time, in Matthew, NOBODY was saved by or knew of the death, burial and resurrection (Pauls gospel of 1 Cor 15 1-4). The Gospel of the Kingdom was for Israel, to accept their Messiah, their King. This verse should not be used to give a sense of a requirement for salvation.
The son of God is Israel and he is also the temple. Only those who lift him up as the true temple are of him and the true church. All other churches including this one are robbing God.

A gentile is a foreigner who is not from Israel not someone who doesn't know God.
