You should do another video on, “The Wreck of the Titan: Or, Futility” which is a book made years before the Titanic that pretty much says exactly what happened 😳🤔
Actually you are not. The amount of ships that got titanic’s distress call is false, the death count stated is false, the theory about fake names is also false. And the thing about the lifeboats, there were more than the legal requirement so white star was ahead of the competition in safety. @@cattanic494 well, it says there was another boat that could have saved them but the captain of that boat was sleeping so he didn't respond to the signal, that is why he got fired
Facts: the titanic was the first to use the SOS, it was one of the first to have a swimming pool, the band members had a chance to leave the ocean liner but continued to play instead
@@isaacgame88429 Also the lifeboat fact was wrong. There were 20 lifeboats, 2 being unusable (capsized). Each boat had a capacity of 65 passengers and a lot of the boats sailed off with half or less the people it could hold.
Another fact, titanic carried more lifeboats than required. You see ships at the time needed to Cary an amount of lifeboats judged by gross tonnage google that if you don’t know what it is. Basically, the Olympic class only needed 16 lifeboats. They had these, with four collapsible lifeboats. So the Olympic class had more lifeboats than required of them.
The closer boat was actually told by the titanic that it was interfering with the radio signals and to go to sleep an hour earlier so that’s why it didn’t come
The Californian didn’t hear the distress call. The radio operator had gone to end, and although something had changed with Titanic, they were 10 miles away and didn’t notice what was truly wrong. The emergency fireworks just made them think there was a party going on. The sad thing is, had Titanic heeded the warning of the Californian’s captain about the ice field and slowed or stopped for the night, the entire disaster could have been avoided And all lifeboats they could deploy were deployed. But most went down only partially filled.
The distress calls were not just picked up by those two ships. It was picked up as far away as NYC, where the RMS Olympic was, so the Olympic headed the distress call
As a ship enthusiast, you should know that some of these "facts" are slightly wrong. For example, he said the exact number of lost is unknown, but that's not the case. The exact amount of lives lost was 1,496 people, and that's not an estimate, historians agreed upon it.

Okay so to make sure all of you understand these facts correctly you need to know why they even happened. The Californian didn’t pick up the Titanic’s emergency signals because the ships wireless operator was asleep. And furthermore, the crew of the Californian saw the Titanic’s distress rockets however they didn’t know what they meant. Oh and by the way many ships picked up the Titanic’s distress signals. Not just two. The reason there were only twenty lifeboats onboard is because in 1912, it was believed that if a ship was sinking, another ship would be nearby so that the sinking ship could ferry passengers to the nearby ship.
adding to that, The californian crew thought the distress signals were company signals. The olympic also picked up the titanic distress signals Via Marconi.
SOS was first used during the sinking of the Titanic. People had been discussing haveing something but it was not yet even official when it was first used by the Titanic
The RMS Olympic (The titanic’s sister ship) also heard the signal but was to far away and after about 1 and a half hours the captain gave the order to continue the regular course
Another fact: Titanic has two sister ships, Olympic and Britannic, Olympic was the one who didn't sink among the two, 1911-1935 scrapped while the Olympic causes alot of damage on her hull, and Britannic was used as a hospital ship to save troops in WW1, And sunk by a mine, In the island of Kea.
They actually used the red flares for help when it was released from the dock as they were celebrating so they only had white flares that meant it’s okay.
This is why context matters. Carpathia responded to the "radio" distress signals simply because its wireless operator, Harold Cottam, happened to be listening for any signals well past the end of his shift. The Californian didn't respond simply because its crew didn't understand a mysterious ship in the distant horizon firing off rockets since the firing between the rockets wasn't short enough to signal distress (regardless of the color of the pyrotechnic). Also, it's completely misleading for a thumbnail to claim that it wasn't an iceberg that sank the Titanic only for you to acknowledge the fact that it did.
Let's talk about the thumbnail.. it was a damn iceberg. And most modern cruise shops don't even have 64 lifeboats. There would be 0 deck room with 64 lifeboats.
Another scary fact is even if Titanic had enough lifeboats for everyone on board, they would not launch all of them in time. They did not have enough time already because the last 2 lifeboats collapsibles A and B were floated off of the ship and 2:15AM 5 minutes before the ship sank. And also, these last lifeboats were in HORRIBLE condition. Collapsible A was actually tied to the ship by ropes that lower the boat, and the lifeboat nearly got dragged down by the ship, and when they freed the boat it shot up out of the water spilling it's occupants into the freezing water. Collapsible B on the other hand was literally upside down and it also came inches from being crushed by the colossal funnel. In the end there were 20 people In Collapsible A, and only 13 of them survived. The reason why is because when the lifeboat shot out of the water and flipped over it got filled with seawater, which made the passengers in the boat suffer. While Collapsible B had 30 people on board and only 1 died. The reason why is because 2nd Officer Lightoller took charge of this boat after being stuck underwater and blew up from the surface by a boiler explosion. He saved all 30 men aboard Collapsible B.
More facts: An author actually predicted the sinking, and is also the son of a ship's captain. Violet Jessop, also known as miss unsinkable, survived 3 ship disasters. The first is the olympic, but it thabkfully didn't actually sink. The second is the Titanic, she got on a boat safely. The third is the Brittanic, however, she nearly died in this one. When she was on a boat, it got launched without permissions from the captain, and unfortunately, there is still a working porpellor that is above water. The lifeboat started to flow to it, but she jumped out in time, still hitting her head pretty hard. The others on that boat didn't survive, and got chopped into pieces. There were 2 children who is taken by their father from their mother. The father placed them on a boat, and dissapeared, never to be seen again. They were eventually reunited with their mother again.
Wow… these are all totally and completely incorrect… 1. We don’t know if the ship closer to Titanic was actually Californian. It was never confirmed and it is just speculation. What we do know is that Californian had her marcooni system off that the time, so it wasn’t that Titanic’s calls were being ignored, but rather they just didn’t hear them. 2. Yes, Titanic only had 20 boats. However, this was well above the legal limit at the time. Back then, lifeboat numbers were based of the ship tonnage, not passenger capacity. More boats simply wouldn’t have helped much anyways as 2 of her 18 boats, collapsible A and B were washed away as Titanic began her final plunge. They simply wouldn’t have the time to launch even more boats. 3. We do know how many died in Titanic’s sinking. Out of the 2,208 passengers and crew aboard, 1,496 passed away leaving 712 survivors. No offense, but maybe you should stick to your comedy skits.

This is the real reason the Titanic sank: Right before the Titanic set sail from the UK to America, Captain E. J. Smith decided to replace the officers and the original second officer whose name I forgot was left behind. But, what if I told you that the original second officer had the key to a very special compartment that would have saved the titanic? 😨😨😨
Another fact about the Titanic: A guy named by the name of David had a key to a closet containing Binoculars. When they found out David was back in UK, they didn’t want to turn back and was not worth the time so they will mail it back to New York (There Destination) And Could’ve saved 1,518 lives.
Did you know that there was a burning spot in the lower hull causing the metal to be weak before it's first voyage starts. And before it set sail one of the people was in a hurry that he forgot to give the keys for the binoculars if these were noticed before it was going to set sail it could have been saved

Another fact about the Titanic: A guy named by the name of David had a key to a closet containing Binoculars. When they found out David was back in UK, they didn’t want to turn back and was not worth the time so they will mail it back to New York (There Destination) And Could’ve saved 1,518 lives.
it wouldn't have changed anything. you couldn't see A N Y T H I N G out at sea that night, even with binoculars.
Did you know that there was a burning spot in the lower hull causing the metal to be weak before it's first voyage starts. And before it set sail one of the people was in a hurry that he forgot to give the keys for the binoculars if these were noticed before it was going to set sail it could have been saved
The fire wasn’t bad and was put out, and binoculars would not have helped
@@cattanic494valid idk how much this is true but the fire might have helped as coal was put on the port side which helped stop a hard list to starboard in the sinking
One of the names were Anne Elizabeth sage and she had 9 children and she was 44 and passed away with her husband and kids on the titanic
Did anyone else already know these facts? Or am I just going to sit here listening to stuff I already know alone?
It’s still a myth is the California was even there
I know this.I was on the titanic as a second class passenger who gave up my seat on the life boat too save a mother and child.
The Californian’s wireless operator got off duty to sleep before the titanic even saw the iceberg
Just imagine that ppl where there im the water still alive when the safe-ship was going away 💀
I had a stroke reading that
@@WassamelonSeed that people could still be alive in the water and the safety boats left without them
Titanic: CQD, SOS Titanic Sinking
*Meanwhile On SS Californian*
Cyril Evans (the only Wireless Operator): Imma End Shift Lemme Go to Bed
i said titanic once today and this is my tenth titanic video
the SS californian didnt respond because their crew were sleeping. The californian was one of the ships that warned the Titanic about the massive field of icebergs.
If he did about the same amount of selling meters it has you could probably that will tell you how much people was on the Titanic
2,200 people were on the titanic
Me a Titanic historian: 👁️👄👁️ wtf did I just watch. There are quite a lot of inaccuracies in what he just said.
