- An oldie but a goldie... Follow Adrian along with good old buddies Joe and Mark on this trophy-class, free-range Texas Blackbuck double from several years ago. We thought we lost the footage but we found it! Both rams go gold medal and I couldn't be happier with the gorgeous 4.5 curl Blackbuck I got! Loads of wildlife, open year-round, budget-priced and delicious on the grill...what's not to love?

Nice Blackbuck, congrats. As a Texas Hill Country land owner, I can tell you confidently that free range Blackbuck is a misnomer in Texas. Rancher's who manage their land for Blackbuck antelope will make sure, for economic reasons, they cannot leave their land with "at least" low fence "stock" fencing which blackbuck cannot jump. Blackbuck have white man's disease ;). I own 100+ acres on an 11K acre ranch where most of that 11K is free range, including elk. But the blackbuck that occasionally cross my non-fenced piece are limited in how far they can travel by fencing. Eventually they run out of acreage they can roam (unlike the elk, axis, fallow, and sika) because of stock fencing an owner has put up. I have considered low fencing my property with stock fencing and buying some animals that won't jump it; blackbuck, rams, Sym oryx, Zebra and some others. But before I spent that kind of money, I would have to make sure they weren't leaving my place. Thanks for sharing the hunt.
