Little Shin Shin is right down the street from where I live. Their food is mostly excellent but for some weird reason they don't do rice right. It's a strange flaky texture and impossible to eat with chopsticks.

Forget KATZ'S in NYC. If you want the best pastrami in NY Tri-State area. Go to HAROLD'S DELI in Edison, NJ. He's been featured on Travel Channel, so you can see videos here on youtube. Dont let the hugely over-sized sandwiches fool you, that food is a second thought. They overdo it with the big portions and some items suffer for it, like the potato pancakes. Pastrami is the best. Plus it's machine-sliced thin, like it should be. Pastrami is too stringy & chewy when hand-carved.
