“Putt 5 times in the last 6 holes” is legendary
For real! Then he says, "he's played the last 6 holes 7 under par." 🤯
That's awesome. My best for a front nine is 29. I had two hole in ones and I birdied the windmill.
Nice comment, you got me.... lol
He had us on the first half ngl
Had me laughing as well
@Clone Frog Tough course though. My caddy said it was one of the toughest courses he's seen.
Haha
Pars first hole

Pars 2nd hole

Pars 3rd hole

Bunker on 5th hole
Extreme confusion activated
😂 makes two of us!
I did the same thing 😂
Best comment, same here! 😂
Bunker on 5th thinking wait I thought this was a birdie... Then oh why am I not surprised lol
I was thinking the same thing, and then I saw him birdie and then eagle, and I knew the goat was gonna start a hot streak🐐🐐🐐🐐
Tiger’s disappointed face after getting a par is my face when I 4 put on the green that took me 2 ball drops just to get to
felt that 😂
The way he putted when he was at his best is better than any golfer at any time, ever.
Couldn't be more true
I’m newish to golf so still trying to watch old footage. Was he best at hitting longer putts or finishing up short ones or what?
Stephen Wright he just didn’t miss in clutch time
Steven wright... Welcome to golf and watching the PGA tour. Obviously not the Tiger Hay day right now, but there are so many brilliant players right now it's a great time to get into it. Once we finally defeat the China virus you absolutely need to get to a PGA tournament, doesn't matter who you follow they all blast that thing and are wizards on & around the greens.
@@iThinkSteveisZooted Basically, everything. He was always putting for Birdie cuz of his immaculate Iron play and his green reading was so good that he never had more than 7 or 8 feet for par. And even if he did have a 8 footer... He always made them. He's the GOAT
Prime Tiger was unanimously the greatest golfer that’s ever lived, period.
Mike Austin
I don’t really see how this is even debatable.
@@matthewh8816 exactly...
100%...maybe the greatest athlete ever...
Too bad he was forced to play that marriage game for respectability and acceptance.
“That was the first poor shot we’ve seen him hit this week” *still puts it on the green*
From the rough
-"Everyone of these drivers is going a little bit right nick"
-"And he continues to drive the ball beautifully"
When tigers drive lands in the rough it means the golf course built the fairway in the wrong spot
To be fair the first few did go right lol
I finally hit a 29 for the first time this year. Unfortunately the remaining 7 holes didn't go as well.
cap
@@lyonpark8711 you didn’t get it 😭
Same but 22😭😭😭
Had us in the first half
The ninth hole is true greatness, someone playing with full confidence and at the absolute pinnacle of their game. This Tiger was scarily good, almost inhuman.
Still has a 22% win rate... which is just insane! He has won almost twice as many tournaments as Phill in about half as many tries!
@@maxcaysey2844in fields of 150+ of the best players in the world this man wins almost a quarter of the time. We'll never see it again
Facts
When you consider where he was after 10 shots this is even more amazing.
Damn those greens must’ve been super soft that day, every approach he made left a crater
yes could u not hear the ball getting hit off the fairway. it was soft and muddy
@@platinumpineapple9943 Does he have to hit it out of the crater or can he move in and fix the grass?
Parker he has to hit it out of the crater, theres no rule yet that u can move it out of a divot
@@platinumpineapple9943 Wow that’s impressive
@@parker5323 if you mean on the green yes they can mark the ball, fix the divot and then putt once it's fixed. In the fairway no, it has to stay in a divot if it lands in one
Those were the best times, when his ball had 8 seconds of hang time
Hey I did this but in 4 holes
@@donniejacobmedia My point is I suck
Back in those days, everyone was playing for 2nd when Tiger was in a tournament...and they knew it.
So many years of watching Tiger play the most incredible golf. You could see him taking advantage of a wet course and lighting it up even with the poor start.
Wrong thing to be commenting on but, I love his shirt here
And that 70 footer at 4:50 is nuts
Nah his fit was different in those days
Tyler Whittaker haha first thing I thought watching this “that’s a nice shirt”
@@jmayes2433 You may have made longer putts however you didn't have a gallery of fans, live TV, and didn't get paid excessive money. In essences, no one cares.
@@jmayes2433 you should become a pro and face Tiger Woods. You're that good
Love this era of club sounds... sounds amazing
those fairway woods.... SCINKKKK
I have been blessed to watch Tiger hit shots, in person, at 2012 Ryder cup, and a few different times at Bay Hill, hour and a half from where I live on the gulf coast. IT IS ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHING TO WITNESS IN PERSON.♥️
Classic tiger on the first hole, always willing to bounce it off one his loyal fans without yelling fore to get a favorable bounce.
He took that drive personally. That fan probably deserved it play it as it lies
Golf commentators in 2000: "When he doesn't watch it and picks up the tee, you know it's good."
Golf fans in 2000: "Woowwwwwww :D"
Golf commentators in 2007: "When he doesn't watch it and picks...."
Golf fans in 2007: "Jesus Christ, we know, we know."
Golf fans in 2020 to our kids: "When he doesn't watch it and picks up the tee, you know it's good."
Golf fans' kids in 2020: "Woowwwwwwwww :D"
So what you're saying is, each time it was said by Johnny Miller?
Man, I hated listening to him. Hed stick his foot in his mouth all the time and when he wasn't, we was repeating what we just saw. No kidding Miller, I just saw it. He rarely brought anything of value to the broadcast.
When watching Tiger play you just knew at any time he could just turn it on and leave the whole field in the dust.
And he missed several fairways (i.e. wasn't even firing on all cylinders for the 9 holes)
That front nine is now the back nine. Beautiful course and incredible nine!
I had 11 putts through 4 holes yesterday.
That's not even that bad
That's basically 3 putts per hole tf you mean
the way he putts so relaxed, he needs to go back to that! i love his putting relaxation on every one of the putts, even the misses
His putts used to fly off the face and roll with a different authority.
That's called confidence.
Well when the greens are so wet and slow you have to blast every put yea
It's called not injured
5:07 is a guy having fun
I love how the commentators say it's the first poor shot they've seen him hit but it's on the green..... Uh I'd gladly take those poor shots....all damn day.
Yep, all day, every day!
Then we will never see Tiger play like that again. This is part of history, folks
His ability to recover from the rough or the sand is amazing.
Then to finish with strong putts just puts the exclamation point on it.
Too many people don’t appreciate what this man was capable of for so long! The Greatest Golfer EVER!
This Tiger was as good as anything sports has ever given us. Maradona, Serena, Messi, Kent Manderville...
It was truly a treat to grow up watching Tiger.
He’s the best
The eagle was absolutely beautiful and majestic
that bunker shot changed the rest of his round
He slotted a few more birds after this round too
best comment
Hahaha
😆
I sm so lucky to have lived while Tiger was alive....the greatest ever forever!
Good lord and he only parred the first 3 ! Living legend
Watching him play on TV while I was growing up was always a treat because of what he was able to do while in his prime. He's not the same now but it's still a treat to watch him play today.
That “Tiger Smile” gets me every time! The guy is just AMAZING to watch!
He shoots a 28 front 9, and for the first 3 minutes, he's basically unhappy with his shots. God I love Tiger Woods.
Shout out to that dude in the red for that amazing first touch keeping the ball in play.
Amazing Tiger, I hadn’t seen this before
Imagine being this hot, I can't even fathom what it would feel like to play like that. The 9th hole is video game stuff, like when you know you crushed your approach and just speed up the camera, he didn't even watch it
"He's played the last six holes seven under par."
3:47 walked it in like a savage
it looked like he thought it was gonna miss.. then he played it off like a boss
The one at 4:03 is better.
@@AgentSmith16 IDK bro..3:47 was a strong left-right putt..4:03 was kind of straight forward..
Either or, I just binge watching the Glory years..We were Lucky
Tiger always played the human shield so well
I totally agree that tiger is the king of golf very disciplined good master of golf.
People talk about the long ball, the beautiful swing, and the crisp iron shots....but this man had the greatest short game. He could spray the ball for half the round and shoot low 60s lol
"May be the first poor shot we've seen him hit."
If I hit that, we'd be high fiving and loving life lol
"Continues to drive the ball beautifully..."
Surely the whole point of this video is, Tiger started the round doing anything but that. He missed the first few fairways and he hit bad-to-average shots on the opening three holes and then stepped it up about four gears with his putting and short game. Amazing.
Get well soon Mr Woods
Did the course change or just higher definition? Looks way different
peak tiger physique
We played a scramble yesterday and shot 29 on the front. 4 guys taking the best shots and getting the read on putts, etc. I mean, it wasn't even that hard of a course, and we weren't playing from the tips. Unreal.
So a 28 for any other player would be basically a front nine without any bad shot, this guy has the first two holes with bad shots and still makes a 28. UNBELIEVABLE
4:30 five consecutive birdies is cool but seven consecutive wins around this time was even better.
Every one of Tigers shots where he slumped his shoulder or dropped his club in disgust, I would be jumping for joy over as my greatest shot ever, lol.
The ball just stops it’s insane
A 28 and it could have been a few strokes lower. Unreal.
Missed three of the first four fairways.
28.
Different class.
As a golfer, you have felt this confidence at one point. Everything just goes your way.
Probably the best iron player and clutch putter ever. Amazing to watch.
4:22 commentator says “he continues to drive the ball beautifully” lol that was only his second fairway that he hit with his driver on the front 9..😝
That was absolutely amazing golf.
👍🥃
He is the GOAT! i played 3 times a 28 on 9 holes and till today i nearly remember every shot especially from the first time. I played with 2 pros for a little bit of money but they stopped after this 9 holes and wanted that i play in a tour event one week later - and there tiger played.... I also remember that i lost two good birdie chances but made a really long eagle attempt. Do i think till today that there was a better score than 8 under possible forgetting the luck i had - crazy thoughts.... I would love to see Tiger again competing with the best!
The 70 foot put was the best out EVER. 70 feet with no issues. Come on man!
Is there anything left? Why yes, return to glory in 2019 of course.
Truly love it. Cant wait for his recovery , see how he does
That eagle putt 👌
The guy said he needed a 7 wood
'the guy' is nick faldo, one of the greatest golfers to have ever lived
😂
@@ronoccc never heard of her how many PGA tour wins does she have?
@@outlaw5318 He won six majors. 3 Masters, and 3 British Opens. So major totals for both are Woods 15, and Faldo 6. Faldo's last major win, came one year before Tigers first, the Master's in 97. As Sir Nick, placed the green jacket on Tiger, the winner by 13 shots, I wonder if he said, "Kid, you should really consider, putting a 7 wood, in your bag." Helluva career for Faldo however, along with Tom Watson, the most major wins, in the generation immediately preceding Tiger's. As Nicklaus, won the most in the generation before Watson's. All-time majors (professional) 18 for Nicklaus, or 20 for Nicklaus, and 18 for Wood's, if the Amateurs are counted. However, the statistical dominance, categorically exhibited by Woods, such as strokes under par, and many, many, other factors. In short, he's the greatest ever. Jones was good, Jack was better, but Tiger is the best of all-time.
did he ever wear that shade of green somewhere else?
First round 08 U.S open?
square tomato *2nd round
Tiger is easily in the top 3 greatest black golfers ever.
Crazy that he started with 3 straight pars 🐐🐐🐐
Man I love rickie Fowler
Thank you God..for his parents and his current family 2021..we love your success and challenges.. like any human being..f all who think being a human being is easy..are you that good..love all..appreciate God's gift..ty
At that point I didn't think it was possible for him to lose if he played even decently... God I miss watching that guy play in his prime.
"Ehhh, is there anything left?" 🤣🤣
my best round is 34 with a eagle from 129m i need to go practice more to get to 28. but i think its amazing how tiger was not playing hes best on first 3 holes and than he all of a sudden started getting birdies and eagles
A bit thick on the commentary, but a solid showing.
I absolutely love how the announcers are like a little annoyed with how good he shot. The slit sighs of just experiencing greatness
Silky smooth
You become the greatest of all time by being arguably the greatest ball striker _and_ the greatest putter. Hole looked like a basketball hoop the last 6 holes lol
Some great golf lessons can be learned here- Doesn’t matter how you get there, as long as you keep going and get it done.
There's this very neat trick where someone takes a golf ball and gets it spinning terminally above a compressed air nozzle. Someone should do that, get it forward spinning and level (where said level is about tee height)and then hit it with a driver to see how much either the forward or backward spin of the bill assists the shot
This video is always funny to me bc if you judged how his round was going based off his body language and facial expressions you’d think he was 3 over through 9 😂
Whys the green taking slaps so much? Were they made differently ?
I shot 29 on an executive course. Which is a par 29. 7 par 3s and 2 par 4s. The Par 4s are only 220 yards and the par 3s are only about 120 yards but it was my best round ever
Why does the third hole tee box say #2? What order is this
Awesome 👌
Just my favorite of his shots in this video :
2nd hole 5 iron : 0:42
4th hole approach : 1:46
Par 3 Hole 6 : 2:59
Hole 7 1st shot : 3:22
Hole 7 2nd shot : 3:35
Hole 8 approach : 3:51
Hole 9 Drive (so pureee) : 4:15
Hole 9 second shot (also very pureee): 4:31
What a beautiful swing
That eagle putt was beautiful
5 putts in 6 holes is a crazy quote
It was a special time when he was dominating in ridiculous fashion. It’s a sad story that the wheels fell off, came back on, and fell off again. They’re currently off.
Short game on point.
Didn't panic when driving slightly right.
The laugh at the end was priceless. He doesn't even understand how he's gettin that lucky
In Golf, you make your own luck. Any putt over 20 feet could be called lucky as the ball can hit one blade of grass and miss the hole. And when they bend, then picking the line and speed is not easy.
I truly feel bad for younger golfers that didn't get to experience prime Tiger at work. Probably will never have another player like him again.
Never is a long time. I’m sure everyone was saying the same thing about Jack Nicklaus (who by the way still has Tiger beat with most Majors won all time) Every generation there comes along a talent that takes complete command of the sport. Baseball - Mike Trout / Football- Tom Brady / Basketball -LeBron James / Swimming- Michael Phelps / Track - Usain Bolt - The list goes on and on.
There will never be another Tiger Woods, sure - but there will be many golfers to come that he has already heavily influenced to pick up a club, only time will tell if they will have that elite talent that he had.
@@rdrive1 that's why I used the word probably
@@johnnybgood7442 Maybe, but Tiger Woods won his first major 11 years after Jack Nicklaus won his last in 86, so if we went with that trend again and just for arguments sake let's say Tiger's last major win ever was the 2019 Masters, then the next super dominant golfer will win their 1st major in 2030.....
@@SiLoMixMaster yeah but the fields are just so incredibly deep now. The game is more popular and accessible around the world and the kids are starting at an earlier age with better technique. It's not impossible, but I won't hold my breathe.
@@johnnybgood7442 If a past prime 40+ year old Tiger Woods with dodgy knees and a back that's basically held together with super glue can come back and win the Masters - then there is clearly room for another dominant force to come along and sweep up 10+ majors lol. None of the current players would have had a hope against prime Tiger or even prime Phil Mickelson - who won a major in his 50's just last year! And on the longest course! When you see 50 year olds winning majors against 20 and 30 year olds then clearly this era of golfers isn't as strong as many think it is. Players had great technique in the 90's and 2000's as well, but no one had Tiger's mental game back then and they definitely don't have it right now either. Tiger's had many different swings as well over the years so it's not just about technique - it's all about the mental game.
He was so much fun to watch! He was the Barry Sanders of golf. Or, was Barry Sanders the Tiger of football?
