That verse had nothing to do with slavery here in the United States. That verse was written in the AD period back when Christians were enslaved by the Roman government and Paul was talking to those Christians who were enslaved by the Roman government. The slave masters manipulated that verse for their own gain which the Bible says not to do in Titus but It had nothing to do with the United States.
