One of my favorite small speakers of all time! They wont dig too deep into the lows but if you can pair them with a subwoofer they are amazing! That small Realistic amp you have would work well with them too! Good stuff on the TMNT comics too man! Its so cool to see someone being a creative force behind one my favorite franchises from my childhood. The other little trick I was told to change the way they sound is to cross the polarity of the tweeter. Meaning, put the negative wire on the positive and visa versa.
    Good find, man!

Thanks! I had a blast drawing and hopefully can do some more in the future. Though if I could also draw a Star Trek cover and a My Little Pony cover (don’t judge me, haha) I’d be good. The bass on these is actually pretty good! Not gonna shake any walls but they’re not tinny or anything. I’m actually waiting for a mini Realistic receiver to arrive (SCT-19) that I’m hoping will go well with it.

The Realistic Minimus series speakers got rave reviews for their sound. The Minimus 7 and 11 speakers were favorably reviewed and by adding a good subwoofer you could have a swell system. Their T-70 speakers also got great reviews for cost/performance. They used a labyrinth design as opposed to porting for very good bass.

Most realistic products are collectable , I own a few pairs of Minimus 7 speakers they all work awesome for a small enclosure mostly to compete with Bose and other small speaker's.

Still have a few pair, from 35 years ago, (outside) one woofer fail out of 4 pair. Not too shabby! Oh, yeah, using a sub crossed over any 90 hz.

I don't know much about speakers that small, (I've never used any) but I could listen to your stories about how you find your equipment all day! You had my ass laughing several times during the telling of that story! 😂 👏🏼👏🏼

Lol I don’t really know much about any speakers at all! Decibels, ohms, crossovers, cross-dressers, no fuckin clue haha. Glad you found it funny!!

Man I've had SEVERAL versions of Minimus 7's over the years. Black, white, silver ones. Metal and wooden housing. Most people don't realize not all Minimus 7's sound the same. Some better than others. There is a difference with product #'s ending is A, B, or C;'s. The later Genexxa versions from Radio Shack suck. Needless to say I got tired of the Minimus 7's and sold them all off. Good for a bedroom or office room. But why settle for these when there are so many better speakers out there (i.e Paradigm Micros / Atoms. JBL N28, AR M.5s etc)

Social media and nostalgia revisionist history has elevated these speakers much higher than they are in reality. And so many speakers that can be found thrifting that are so much better than these. Yes, I know about subs, and yes, I know about “mods”. These truly are terrible speakers.

Thanks for taking the time to write such an inspirational comment. The world could use more of this positivity these days 😊
