All fish were legal and speared for consumption; I have a NSW Fishing Licence and abide by catch size limits, daily takes, and no fish zones. Over the past five years, I have committed to no longer buying fish, so I only eat the fish I catch. Thank you!!! Haha thats it! Did you rate the length? High def from now on! Bye bye GoPro 👋🏼
Defently inspired me to do more adventures like this, keep it up!
Im stoked to hear that man, comments like this spur me on! Go get it!
Spectacular cinematography my friend, these shots are just spectacular! What a professionally filmed piece of art!🔥
Thank you very much! The drone does the hardwork really haha
Bula Sam. Love this video
Bula bro, thank you!
Love watching the hike and spear trips you have definitely inspired me to take my gun on my next hike!
Unreal drone footage and editing this video mate! I'm glad mon and I didn't end up having to fly it that day :p
🤣🤣 thanks man
Great vid! Good to see you back in NSW and with a hike and spear no less. Too bad you didn’t manage another dive, but what can you do. I wasn’t sure about the longer format but after watching it I like it! Keep them coming and safe spearing!
Awesome thanks for the feedback! Its good to be back and ill be around for a long while so plenty more hike and spears to come 🤙🏼
Love it Sam!! Keep it coming 😍
Thank you 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Only just found your channel, super underrated, sick content
Great vid mate I've definitely missed the hike and spear... there is some amazing terrain off the national park 👌🏽
Thanks man, sure is hey worth the hike for sure!
Fantastic vid. 33:20 had me in stiches.
🤣🤣🤣RIP
Woah !!! Been waiting for this and such good content as always Sam !!
Leaking water salmon with parasites burner malfunction and of course the weather making things hard !!
Thanks for doing this for the contract and yesss longer format looks great and video quality is amazing too
A massive thank you bro! Always appreciate your comments and feedback, yep there were some challenges alright but its what makes this all a bit more fun really. Im stoked with the investment in new camera gear and the quality its given! Just need to dial in a few things and i think we will be set! Next hike and spear kicks off next week too!
Great to see you back making great content again Sammy, I've missed your vids!
Oh and the longer ones are awesome 👌
Its good to be back! Thanks for always dropping a comment too! Thank you 🤙🏼
Need more hike and spears 1000%
I couldnt agree more with you haha
Love watching these!
Thanks Dom!
feels good to be in the winning squad for the thumbnail
Hahaha cheers legend! Votes count 🤙🏼
Awsome scenery
Thanks man
I'm somewhat new to your channel and I got to say it's been one of my favorites. The amount of abuse amd setbacks in this one are quite epic. This was a brutal buttkicking, but your perseverance is amazing. Well done.
Welcome! Stoked to hear im already one of your favourite channels thats mint, I thought i would show the failings because things do go wrong but thats all part and parcel, glad you enjoyed and thanks for commenting!
Love it mate! The longer style is great! Keeping the stoke alive as always you legend!
Amazing thanks for the feedback bro it seems to be a hit hey!
only dove there a few times M8 ,,, BUT out of a boat ,, great content BUT was a tad long ,, but always great to watch other people diving
Thanks for the feedback man, yeah there are some great dives there, but he who dares wins on the hiking haha.
Epic content as per usual, great start with the water bladder 😅
Cheers man, haha i know right! Put my backpack on and it was wet… oh dear
Epic mate I think the longer vids are perfect for the big story overnight missions eh bloody awesome. then for smaller trips maybe shorter?
Great shout! Yeah and i think if theres more diving and interesting stuff ill break it up into smaller episodes too
Terrific video, we love the longer content on a weekend release. Your earlier Hike and Spear trips on the far south coast inspired us to do a similar thing on the Great Ocean Road, just for one night though with the family :)
Thanks Rebecca, amazing how was that! I love the Great Ocean Road would love to do a hike and spear in the Otway!
@@WetMammal It was beautiful thank you. In all honesty if you are looking around the Victorian west coast, from Apollo Bay through to Peterborough is hard to beat. That's a long trek though, we find the closer to Port Campbell and Peterborough the better 🙂
Loving the video format
Awesome thanks man! It appears to be a hit
Great to see you’re back on the hike and spear! Gutted for you about the weather & gear failures. Long duration is good, one of my favourite parts of your videos is always fishID and techniques / thoughts.
Thank you its great to be back, do you prefer voice overs whilst im diving explaining what im up-to?
@@WetMammal Yeah for sure! I think there's plenty of people getting amazing fish and great shots, but the narration is a point of difference
I personally like this style of vid. I’m glad your back doing the NSW coast🤙good stuff
Thanks man, its good to be back!
Bellissimo, sick hat mate 🎱❤️🔥
Cheers bro 🤙🏼 good luck!
Glad that you are back
Thanks 🙏🏽 its good to be back!
Take some small cans of beans and spaghetti. You can eat the stuff cold if you have to. If you have an accident, it's gonna be torture, and that's IF they find you.
thats a good idea but thats a heavy solution im already at nearly 30kg haha dont forget im carrying all the filming gear and protective cases they live in.
Yesssss! This is a soul need for me brother 🙏🏽 I’ve been waiting for this day since I circled you in the hiking pic the other day 🤙🏽 10 points for me ahahaha don’t know if anyone can rock the wet mammal adventure hat like you bro 🤞🏽 definitely ready for new mercy and longer mammal videos 🙏🏽
🤣🤣 cheers man! Well spotted! You never know man ill do the draw next week you might end up with one 🤙🏼
@@WetMammal that would be amazing I’d love to wear a wet mammal hat bro
Amazing to see, are those small shacks empty or do people live there?
They are mostly holiday homes that are handed down through the generations. Really cool little huts but ive never seen anyone in them, but i do avoid this hike during any holiday season or summer because it gets busy
@@WetMammal definitely gonna have to go check it out one day!!
Your hair looks so much better 😉
Haha ello mate! How the devil are ya!
Epic stuff dude!! Beats the UK eh 😅😎
Thanks brother, hahah just a tad heres me complaining about diving in 23/24 degree water 🤣🤣
9:40 I was wondering why you looked different and it wasn’t till now hat I noticed the mullet is gone. Big changes, looks so good though!
Haha yep sad sad times indeed man :( but cheers!
Hat looks sick, need that sun protection!
Its dope man!
30:27 Finally I can correct you on something!
Echidnas are monotremes, not marsupials. One of only 2 animals of their species, along with the platypus. Both of which call this beautiful country home.
Missed these hike and spears. Good to see you back in Aus. Loved the drone work. Is good with the feature length film but prefer the shorter versions. (Easier to watch as a time poor parent haha). Keep up the good work mate.
Cheers for the honesty man, noted! Will try and balance the lengths out a bit i think
No way hahaha - just came back to europe after 3 weeks in Australia, i actually went to the Royal National Park...managed to do some fishing @Hacking river with my small travel rod, caught some small silver trevallies (but don't know much about Australian fish so might be wrong on this one hah). It's a shame we didn't have the gear to do a longer hike/camp kind of trip!
Awesome but hey atleast you got out there and did something!
Looks amazing : )
Thank you!
That looked tough, probably lost a few kgs
haha probably its actually a nice easy track except for the end hike up
Yiewwww! 🔥
Cheers bro 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Love your video as usual! Any tips for wild camping in NSW? What are some of the rules I should be aware of? :)
Thanks! You will need to research the areas you are visiting specifically, different areas have different rules and thats also true for National Parks they vary from place to place 🤙🏼
long episodes for sure mate, better than netflix haha
Hahaha yes! Cheers man
Fuark yes. Been waiting for the next hike and spear!! Really keen to do this too. What are the rules with camping randomly along royal national park? And carrying ya gun? Do ya just have to hide it and hide from rangers?
You have to camp at designated campsites and book in such as North Era. But unfortunately due to traffic I arrived late and couldnt hike the cliffs in the dark so had to make shelter where was safe to do so until the morning light. You can carry your speargun you just cant have the spear engaged in the trigger mech or the bands under pretension 🤙🏼 hope that helps its different for every national park though. I spoke with a ranger on a spearfishing trip and they said you could spearfish in certain areas and basically avoid crowds such as wattamolla
@@WetMammal sweet got ya 😉👍🏽
Nice video bro
Thanks 🤙🏼
Video length doesn't matter to me. Better cut the itinerary into segments, combine with Google map to display the routes on the map and mark the important stops. Good job, thank you.
Awesome idea but im trying to keep the maps for spearfishing spots offline as ive seen first hand spots get obliterated when maps are shared online. Its not really an issue with the amount of followers now, but once uploaded its online forever and that will have definite impact to that spot so im trying to avoid that
Actually been getting heaps of lobster in this warm water in Sydney Sam. A few well over the kg.
How strange is that! I did look in a couple of known holes but alas nobody was home :( hope you are well!
@@WetMammal yes I am mate. And it is strange but not complaining 😊
It's a national park.. It must be kept in its natural pristine state. And by natural and pristine I mean covered in artificial paths and fencing 😂
Tell me about it. I hate the artificial paths, an eyesore, deprives of true escapism and reduces the challenge.
longer video formats are way more soothing, can put it on in the background. you might be able to clock on more youtube hours that way too
Yeah i personally enjoy longer content myself for that very reason. Haha maybe but only if people continue to watch them
Are you back in Aus?
Im back!
@@WetMammaltime to ditch NSW and move to Queensland (also known as God's country)
I prefer shorter videos. I still smash them one after another but it feels neater
Thanks for the feedback!
Video is great. Music is a little loud though.
Will reduce the music on the next one especially during talking points, thank you! 🤙🏼
@Wet Mammal no worries mate. Interesting video. I live pretty close to the NP. The rules shit me though.
'You can't tell there was a Sam in this hole.'.....that's what she said! Sorry, had to do it,
🤣🤣🤣
Never ever jump in the water with your gun already loaded
Absolutely.
Just so you know my gun isn’t loaded. Its a roller gun.
awesome! really great!
maybe next time less music :)
Thank you! Less volume on the music or overall less music and more nature sounds?
@@WetMammal more nature sound will be perfect
Thanks mate your great keep doing it 😊😎🙏
