Ryan_214 to be honest a lot of old songs tell about sex for example a bunch of AC/DC's songs. And there are a lot of rock/metal bands that keep producing quality content but you just haven't found them
there's loads of 00's bands similar to gnr. you'll never find a band that sounds like gnr, they were really one in a million, but check out airbourne, band of skulls, wolfmother, the vines, royal blood, radio moscow, the last vegas, graveyard and crashdiet .. there's loads more but i cant think of them.
... for me the centerpiece of Illusion-1+2. As if the other (mostly fabulously good) songs were the children of it. Slow and fast, powerful and weak, dreamy and calculating, desperate and hopeful - it's all in this piece. Splendid! ❤
A freaking masterpiece, love the progression of this song, I want it played on my funeral, along with Both the Use your Illusion albums and Appetite for Destruction, GNR Forever
Love these guys! But I love bad boys! Like you, this would be great at a funeral! I already have some songs I want played. GnR will have to be in there. Went back stage in the 90's at there concert! Love them forever!
Personally, I truly love the way GnR always incorporate so much live footage into their many epic rock videos. It shows that despite all the hype and controversy, they were a serious rock-n-roll band who were always at their best when they could play, play, play!!!
Saw Faith No More, Metallica, and GnR in Indy in 1992. They played this song live. Here it is 2024 and im listening (and watching) them on my phone. Alot has changed in 32 years, but this song is still a masterpiece!
When I was in middle school, we had no cable TV or internet. But I had GNR music anthology on DVD. I would play it when no one was home and pretend to be Axl Rose. This was (and still is) my favorite song by GNR.
My mom died when I was 14 years old. It was July of 1991. Use You Illusion 1 & 2 came out that September. All I did for the next year after school was go out to the shed where my drums were and play along to those two albums till dark. I look back now and I guess that's how I coped with it. This song and Coma are both epic songs
guitar covers 307 5:00 6:15 and the one where he comes out of the sea it’s not as good on the music video here for the 5:00 but on Apple Music you can here it pretty well
Best ever song other than gospel hymns that praise God 👍. It's been my favorite song from my family band ever since I first heard it. But you wanna good hymn read this sorry then the hymn, "it is well with my soul"
Almost 10 minutes, but when this song is ending you just want to set it on repeat and hear it over and over again. This is a true masterpiece and one of the greatest songs in history. There is so many layers and substance to this song, that it is beyond comparison. This song is the equivalent to Bohemian Rapsody, and it has never got the recognition that it derserves.
@Data Quester November Rain is 9:16min. and it was a massive hit on MTV Thriller is almost 14min. and legendary. I agree that no doubt the lenght has something do do with it, but in the end it´s about complexity in the song. November Rain is more ´easy listening´ than Estranged.
@@cphattitude8857 ur right nr was long n I think it got such good play after following appetite...jmo... I like estranged way more than nr.. prolly bcuz I heard nr so many more times... ESTRANGED eyy, eyy. eyy, eyy.... (sorry that's my cheap effort at that song's ending)

History has it locked in now and unfortunately many these days won’t appreciate the nostalgic memories for many off us. It’s the same as “Siamese dream” . This song ( and too live is too die) started my love for depressing music genres like gothic/ Doom, DSBM, Funeral doom ect
First heard this song a few days ago. Crazy how it went all that time without me knowing about it. I love so many GNR songs and finding a new (old) gem to enjoy makes me so happy

GREAT FRIEND, THATS THE SPIRIT EVERYONE NEEDS TO HAVE, SPECIALLY THE OLD SCHOOL METAL HEADS HAVE IT !!!1
When you're talkin' to yourself
And nobody's home
You can fool yourself
You came in this world alone
(Alone)
So nobody ever told you baby
How it was gonna be
So what'll happen to you baby
Guess we'll have to wait and see
One, two
Old at heart but I'm only twenty eight
And I'm much too young
To let love break my heart
Young at heart but it's getting much too late
To find ourselves so far apart
I don't know how you're s'posed to find me lately
An what more could you ask from me
How could you say that I never needed you
When you took everything
Said you took everything from me
Young at heart an it gets so hard to wait
When no one I know can seem to help me now
Old at heart but I musn't hesitate
If I'm to find my own way out
Still talkin' to myself
And nobody's home
(Alone)
So nobody ever told us baby
How it was gonna be
So what'll happen to us baby
Guess we'll have to wait and see
When I find out all the reasons
Maybe I'll find another way
Find another day
With all the changing seasons of my life
Maybe I'll get it right next time
An now that you've been broken down
Got your head out of the clouds
You're back down on the ground
And you don't talk so loud
An you don't walk so proud
Any more, and what for
Well I jumped into the river
Too many times to make it home
I'm out here on my own, an drifting all alone
If it doesn't show give it time
To read between the lines
'Cause I see the storm getting closer
And the waves they get so high
Seems everything we've ever known's here
Why must it drift away and die
I'll never find anyone to replace you
Guess I'll have to make it through, this time - oh this time
Without you
I knew the storm was getting closer
And all my friends said I was high
But everything we've ever known's here
I never wanted it to die
Thanks for lyrics
In my opinion, Estranged is one of the greatest songs ever written!
Your opinion happens to be a 100% fact.
I was just thinking to myself as I came back to this video that this is their best song. As great a song as any
Es una obra maestra, se nota el cansancio y las notas de puro dolor, arreglos impecables.
This, November rain and Locomotive are truly iconic songs.
Completely correct. Undeniable.
This song is perfect, sad, beautiful, peacefull and inquiet. And, Axl piano and Slash's solos are memorable and unforgettable! 😢
It's a friend of Axl who write it, he get inspiration about Axl and his wife relationship
Dizzy Reed too! :)

What a masterpiece
Modern"so called music", is trash
they do they just dont get promoted if you really want music like this to comeback i know a great community on discord dedicated to it.
Old school classic.
Not new school plastic!

This video shows exactly how it feels when you are all by yourself and no one is around you. Fucking depressing but its true, ive been there.
I AM there! lol
all i would suggest is , dont stay in your room , only come to your room to take a nap, join a gym, guitar class or anything which keeps you OUT!! put effort
avnish00 All very good ideas! But I'm bed-bound. So my room is pretty much where I live! I change the pictures on the wall for new perspectives! LOL
then how about you start to learn new things online itself? :) make sure you day is productive is all, you will sleep happily :D
avnish00 That is exactly what I do! My laptop is, quite literally, my world. I can go anywhere I want to with the stroke of a key. I just put on my headphones, crank up music like this, and I'm outta' here!!
Every little thing about this song screams: MASTERPIECE. And the video is incredibly amazing aswell.
Am i the only one Who’s listening to this masterpiece, in 2024?! 🥹😪
This song hit the heart and soul. 💔
What a voice, what a melody! 🥹😪
Me. On May 2024....
We've got a very great tribute band of Guns'n'Roses and i Hope they'll make a live soon....
Nothing more epic then Slash emerging from the ocean to give you a solo!

I agree ❤❤❤
Wish he would emerge into my living room with all of my family and friends there. It would be the greatest party of all of our lives.

Now that you've been broken down, got your head out of the clouds, you don't talk so loud and you don't walk so proud, anymore. And what for. Them words give me chills.
It took me embarrasing many years to realise it's a reference to Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone".
Yep, it gets me everytime
Some of the best lyrics of all time ❤❤
I agree, my friend.
Lyrics: 🧡
When you're talkin' to yourself
And nobody's home
You can fool yourself
You came in this world alone
Alone
So, nobody ever told you, baby
How it was gonna be
What'll happen to you, baby
Guess we'll have to wait and see
One, two, three
Old at heart, but I'm only 28
And I'm much too young to let love break my heart
Young at heart, but it's getting much too late
To find ourselves so far apart
I don't know how you're supposed to find me lately
And what more could you ask from me?
How could you say that I never needed you
When you took everything
Said you took everything from me
Young at heart, and it gets so hard to wait
When no one I know can seem to help me now
Old at heart, but I mustn't hesitate
If I'm to find my own way out
Still talkin' to myself
And nobody's home
Alone
So, nobody ever told us, baby
How it was gonna be
So, what'll happen to us, baby?
Guess we'll have to wait and see
When I find out all the reasons
Maybe I'll find another way
Find another day
With all the changing seasons of my life
Maybe I'll get it right next time
And now that you've been broken down
Got your head out of the clouds
You're back down on the ground
And you don't talk so loud
And you don't walk so proud
Anymore, and what for?
Well, I jumped into the river
Too many times to make it home
I'm out here on my own, and drifting all alone
If it doesn't show, give it time
To read between the lines
'Cause I see the storm is getting closer
And the waves, they get so high
Seems everything we've ever known's here
Why must it drift away and die?
I'll never find anyone to replace you
Guess I'll have to make it through this time
Oh, this time
Without you
I knew the storm was getting closer
And all my friends said I was high
But everything we've ever known's here
I never wanted it to die
Plain and simple. The year is 2024 and this song has stood the test of time. It's a masterpiece.
This is 9min 48 sec of awesome lyrics and music. A true piece of art.
The lyrics, the build up, the break down, the build up, the solo...this song is a masterpiece...

This is a highly underrated song. I'll take this instead of November Rain any day of the week.
+King Of Kpop yeah just posted on November rain that this is the best song they have ever done lol
Absolutely. This is one of the best songs ever written, period.

when in 2017 there is not music like this. i feel so sad. 😢😢😢😢😷
putu komala that's right
I dont. You gotta search.
Ryan_214 to be honest a lot of old songs tell about sex for example a bunch of AC/DC's songs. And there are a lot of rock/metal bands that keep producing quality content but you just haven't found them
there's loads of 00's bands similar to gnr. you'll never find a band that sounds like gnr, they were really one in a million, but check out airbourne, band of skulls, wolfmother, the vines, royal blood, radio moscow, the last vegas, graveyard and crashdiet .. there's loads more but i cant think of them.
why?It was ,its gone, it'll never happen again but it WAS!!!!
... for me the centerpiece of Illusion-1+2. As if the other (mostly fabulously good) songs were the children of it. Slow and fast, powerful and weak, dreamy and calculating, desperate and hopeful - it's all in this piece. Splendid! ❤
yeah totally agree such a stand out hit man
Esto es una obra maestra son 2024 y aún la sigo escuchando

March ha ha ha
Yes,of course! I didn't Remember this beautiful Song...🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ And i liked it much! I still love It and i'm listening in May 2024...😁🎶❤️
A freaking masterpiece, love the progression of this song, I want it played on my funeral, along with Both the Use your Illusion albums and Appetite for Destruction, GNR Forever
Love these guys! But I love bad boys! Like you, this would be great at a funeral! I already have some songs I want played. GnR will have to be in there. Went back stage in the 90's at there concert! Love them forever!
Aren't they just amazing
Lori Jones bad boys will hurt you one way or another don't touch them take it from an older chick...who's disabled now...
that would be a long-ass funeral....
MrPloac i know, hopefully people would still stay till the end, otherwise that would be damn rude
If you're here, you have good taste in music 👌🏻
Aruna Kirun hell yeah
Yes Guns N Roses 👌
Good Rock music never Die 👌🤘🤘
Aruna Kirun So do you!!!!!

Me either I remember seeing this at a friend's house I was amazed
My mom died when I was 14 years old. It was July of 1991. Use You Illusion 1 & 2 came out that September. All I did for the next year after school was go out to the shed where my drums were and play along to those two albums till dark. I look back now and I guess that's how I coped with it. This song and Coma are both epic songs
That was pretty deep . RIP to your mom brother!
Live fast dai young, are maybe not never dai too young!?+?
Parents live forever, wherever burn life , our lives things thanks, and one day meeting

Sorry for your loss but I’m glad you found solace in your drumming 😀 ✌️

Axl: *YES*
Lance Vigal I loled so hard. All badass solos too
How many are there?
guitar covers 307 3 for sure
@@tannerwimer wait, there's the one where Slash played on the sea, and the one after "and now that you've been broken down, where's the third one?
guitar covers 307 5:00 6:15 and the one where he comes out of the sea it’s not as good on the music video here for the 5:00 but on Apple Music you can here it pretty well
Millions of bands would kill to have such a great song.

This song is perfect, sad, beautiful, peacefull and inquiet. And, Axl piano and Slash's solos are memorable and unforgettable! 😍😍😍
Is this anyone else's favourite GnR song?
RealKevM absolutely
as time goes by it seems to whittle down between less and less songs. at the moment i'm down to trying to decide between this and 'coma'!
since I first heard it
Best ever song other than gospel hymns that praise God 👍. It's been my favorite song from my family band ever since I first heard it. But you wanna good hymn read this sorry then the hymn, "it is well with my soul"
I still say The Garden, but here I am listening to this on a Monday night
who else thinks when slash raises up that's the best part

One of my favorite and most cherished rock songs ever. It's why I have three copies of "Use Your Illusion II".
"I have the simplest of tastes, I am always satisfied with the best."
Oscar Wilde ( 1854 - 1900 )
Almost 10 minutes, but when this song is ending you just want to set it on repeat and hear it over and over again. This is a true masterpiece and one of the greatest songs in history. There is so many layers and substance to this song, that it is beyond comparison. This song is the equivalent to Bohemian Rapsody, and it has never got the recognition that it derserves.
i agree
Agreed

Fantastic to listen, marvellous to play.

always thought that myself
its better than November rain I think, for some reason its not as big
Ryan Williams it should be their biggest song.
I'm speechless how masterful these two albums are.
Love this song! Hearing it live was incredible
Hands down one of the greatest songs ever written and composed. New words should be invented just to describe this song...
Indeed. I'm currently working on one of those words because of this song.
Correct, this song has always been on another level than any other
no need it's "estranged" literally speaking of.
History has it locked in now and unfortunately many these days won’t appreciate the nostalgic memories for many off us. It’s the same as “Siamese dream” .
This song ( and too live is too die) started my love for depressing music genres like gothic/ Doom, DSBM, Funeral doom ect
Wow I never felt a comment this hard. This song is perfection and definitely one of the best songs ever
Thank you slash for amazing 3 solos in just 1 song.
Thank you Slash!
