    Fun fact: microwave ovens and wireless routers both operate on the same frequency, 2.4 GHz. So, if you didn't have a microwave, but for some reason DID have ~1,000 home internet routers lying around, you could still reheat that leftover takeout by burying that takeout box in what would essentially be a WiFi bonfire.

    a lot of people seem to see letting food stand as an unnecessary stage, when the reasoning behind it is pretty cool - ice doesn't heat very well via microwaves, whereas water heats almost TOO well, so if you don't leave it to stand and equalise the temperature, that's why you end up with some spots almost flash fried and burnt due to water, while a good portion of your food is still frozen

      pro-tip on the glass containers: if you already know you’re gonna be too lazy to clean the tight away, just plan on putting them back in the fridge empty. That way at least they won’t be disgusting when you do get around to cleaning them.
      That’s the #1 draw for cheap plastic containers, is that if you’re ever too lazy and it gets gross, you can just throw it out no muss no fuss. So nip that in the bud by not letting your containers get too nasty.

    • @anti-ethniccleansing465

      @J P
      I don’t think you’ve ever learned how to properly do dishes if you favor plastic for the reason you gave. I’ve never had an issue with getting glass containers clean, and I’ve never felt the need to keep it in the fridge empty until I do dishes. All you need to do is put your hot tap water on the hottest setting and fill up the container to let it soak for awhile. Maybe even add some soap to it while it’s soaking. That will take care of _ANYTHING_ that is hardened or gross on a glass container.

    If you want to make a food crispy and you don't have or want to use a oven/toaster oven, you can do the following:
    1. Use the microwave to heat up the food until it's warm. Usually this takes less than a minute, depending on what you're heating and how much.
    2. Put the warmed food onto a frying pan that's been heating up on your stove for a few minutes.
    3. Flip the food every now and then to crisp all sides.
    This is a great method to reheat pizza slices from the fridge, and to also crisp frozen chicken nuggets.

That causes the same area of the food to always face the center of the microwave and the opposite side of the food to always point to the outsides. Also, set the power level to 80% and cook it a bit longer. It means lower maximum heat so things don't burn, dry or explode.
    Do you cook everything in your oven at BROIL? No? Same thing with a microwave
