The only thing I missed from "The Santa Clauses" were the happy moments. There were not many. But there were plenty of crabby villains, lots of complaining, being nasty to each other for no reason, and not much love being felt. There was an uneasy feeling in the air the entire time. Pretty sure Carol's entire scripted dialogue was about how being Mrs Clause sucks. Also, they waited much too long to explain that Cal is Buddy for continuity sake. Anyway, it's not something that felt as snuggly and happy as the first 2 films.
Plot is a little different then the movies that's why
